Rovanpera leads WRC Rally Sweden after day two
Hi, friends!
It seems that Toyota works team is far in front of others because we can see in some more extreme conditions like it is at WRC Rally Sweden that they have four Toyota Yaris Rally1 cars in the top 5 and that shows something.
Monte Carlo Rallye was almost a pure tarmac event and M-Sport Ford had Seb Loeb in their rows who helped them to clinch their first WRC victory from 2018 when Seb Ogier took a WRC title with their car. OK, now they have a car but they don't have the right drivers who could fight for the wins because Loeb probably has a limited program of probably five events and one of them was Monte. Their top driver Craig Breen just makes errors which won't be expected from the guy who should take the team on his shoulders but it is probably down to the pressure he feels and maybe it is so too much for his shoulders at the moment.
Hyundai team had some issues and Ott Tanak's i20 Rally1 car had to retire from the day yesterday because his hybrid unit had some problem after heavy landing and his car was having a red light which means retiring that moment because of the safety issues. Neuville's car works fine at the moment but he is currently in 3rd place more then 20s behind youngster Kalle Rovanpera who is leading for Toyota at the moment.
Elfyn Evans took 2nd place at the end of day tow and those two guys hold a lot for Toyota after Seb Ogier opted for a limited program this season. Their 3rd driver Esapekka Lappi is currently in 4th place while Toyota's protegee Takamoto Katsuta still holds 5th position overall..
Hyundai's youngster Oliver Solberg is currently 6th overall after having a much better rally then he has at Momte Carlo but he faced lot s mechanical troubled during this day.
Tomorrow we have four special stages at the program and also a Power Stage which gives some bonus points but there is a long road until then. Let the best win - as always...
