Rovanpera jr won WRC Rally Sweden 2022

Hi, friends!

I can tell three facts about Kalle Rovanpera - he is 21, three WRC wins and good nerves. That's what counts in the World Rally Championship.

Iz was an intense weekend and I was in front of WRC+ program all three days because I am in that group of hard core fans who pay subscription to watch live every special stage. Oh, I would like to try these special stages on my own and that is the one of my wishes for the future.

I like the rallies where you don't have the big lead of someone and where there is a tight difference in times between drivers. That's how it was this weekend with five drivers changing the lead.

Some of them retired like Elfyn Evans who noe has two bad results in the row after making mistakes at both rallies - at Monte Carlo Rallye and in Sweden.

Toyota has the strongest car at the moment but Hyundai is catching up strongly. They still have some reliability problems but the speed is coming, that's for sure. Thierry Neuville finished 2nd overall and the gap to Rovanpera was, with all mistakes he made, around half a minute.

The biggest disappointment of the weekend was M-Sport Ford who's drivers could not match the speed of others. Craig Breen had a fastest time on one of the stages but he is still accident prone and he got stuck in the snow bank early in the weekend. Gus Greensmith was their the best placed driver of the weekend.

Jon Armstrong took the win in Junior WRC which introduced Rally3 cars with four wheel drive machinery.

Andreas Mikkelsen took the WRC2 win and 7th place overall and that's his 2nd top 10 overall in the last two rallies. Don't forget that hr is not in the top Rally1 class but in the WRC2 class.

Iw was a great weekend nad now we have a break until April when Croatia Rally is on the program as next event of the World Rally Championship.
