Rovanpera jr scored his 15th win at WRC Rally Chile 2024

Hi, friends!

Overall WRC wins are no that much valued with the new points system where you have points at the end of Saturday and after that there is also Sunday which brings you additional points for top 7 drivers plus Power Stage for top 5 drivers. It became very complicated to count and guys from FIA said that there will be some changes for 2025 but not huge. Anyway, overall wins aren't valued as they used to be and it is kinda crazy to see this happening.

Current WRC champion Kalle Rovanpera showed once again that Toyota's duo of part timers - him and Seb Ogier are the ones who bring wins for the team while their full timers - Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta bring rest of the points.

OK, Katsuta was replaced by Sami Pajari for Rally Chile but I didn't see anything better then Katsuta should do but Toyota team boss J-M Latvala wanted to test youngster for the possible works drive in 2025.

Seb Ogier didn't have the best rally because he finished outside of points on Saturday after breaking suspension of his car when hitting the huge rock which was on the line. But Sunday was his where he won everything that could be won including Power Stage. I guess that he is out of Championship fight because gap is just too big for the last two rallies.

Yeah, Championship leader Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) drove safely and fast once again and finished 4th overall, behind his team mate Ott Tanak who finished 3rd and Toyota's Elfyn Evans who was 2nd overall.

Adrien Fourmaux (M-Sport Ford) was distant 5th overall with his team mate Gregoire Munster just behind him.

FIA and their “innovative” ideas🙃.. the overall wins generally feel less impactful with the new point system
