New Rally1 cars to come in 2026

Hi, friends!

I already wrote that the FIA ditched the hybrid system from existing top class in the World Rally Championship called Rally1 from next year. But next year will be just a 'transfer' year to the new versions of Rally1 cars which will be built under the regulations which will be known in couple of months.

There was a discussion about will it be just a stronger version of Rally2 cars or something different and from what I understand, it will be something very close to the current Rally2 cars but with more power.

There is already a proposal for Rally2+ cars which will have bigger turbo restrictor of 33m, bigger exhaust and optional paddle shift gearbox. And the reason for this is just to make Rally2 closer to Rally1 cars for customers who want to know where they are in terms of competitiveness.

There is some nice future in front of rallying...
