FIA reveaed WRC New Zealand 2022 entry list
Hi, friends!
We all know that World Rally Championship is extremely expensive sport and very hard for privateers unless you have some backers behind or you are very rich. It seems that drivers down under in New Zealand aren't that interested to compete at the event of the highest level which is organized in their country.
Only 29 entrants are on the published entry list which FIA revealed today. And lots of them only national homologation entrants which means that they can't fight against "the big boys" because their cars don't have an international homologation anymore.
We will have all the regular works entrants but this time with Seb Ogier instead of Esapekka Lappi for Toyota, as I wrote this week about this. There will be also one privateer in the Rally1 machinery and his name is Lorenzo Bertelli, who is also a son of Prada owner. He has a big love for rallying.
From WRC2 entrants there will be a local guy Hayden Paddon with his Hyundai i20 Rally2 car. Another title contender is Kajetan Kaetanowicz who decided to go to the long distance events and that way he will avoid many competitors from the WRC2 class and if he finishes, he will take many points for himself.
Anyway, roads are great in New Zealand and we will watch it on our laptops or TV. Here is the entry list LINK:
