Chris Ingram splits with his long term co-driver
Hi, friends!
Ex-European Rally Champion from season 2019 Chris Ingram is another rally driver from the top level who decided for a change of co-driver just before the start of the new season.
Yeah, Chris Ingram will start his WRC2 season at Rally Sweden in less then ten days and we still don't know who will replace Ross Whittcok who will have to look for a job somewhere else.
I guess that Ingram wants to try something else because all those guys look at the drivers from Rally1 category how they change navigators and soon some speed comes from the change. It seems that Ingram wants the same because he still lacks first win at the top level.
Just to remind you that he became ERC champion without a single win, only because of misfortune of the fellow competitors. That's something he wants to change as soon as possible and he would like to find some speed this season.
He will drive for Toksport from Germany, and with their Škoda Fabia Rally2 he won that European Rally Championship crown in 2019. Will it be something better this year, only time will tell. But the thing is that competition in WRC2 is much more fierce then in ERC where usually amateur drivers compete with some super fast locals.
I think that it's good for Ingram that he is back with the winning team of Toksport because that can only boost his confidence. He will be able to watch at Andreas Mikkelsen and Nikolay Gryazin and their way of working and preparing for the rallies.
But those guys have much bigger budgets and Mikkelsen is also Škoda works driver so he always has the best that factory can produce at the moment.
Let the best win - as always...
