A. Mikkelsen wants Rally1 drive before season 2022 end

Current WRC2 champion Andreas Mikkelsen offers his services to all the top works teams but with limited number of seats, it is hard to find the driver's job in the top category at the moment.

He has the contract and gentleman deal with Škoda that if he finds the Rally1 drive, they will let him out the contract. He has one more rally before the end of this season - WRC Acropolis Rally Greece and that's it.

Every WRC2 driver has seven starts during the season and Acropolis will be Mikkelsen's seventh start which means season end for him, unless someone offers him a Rally1 drive.

He hopes for an offer from M-Sport Ford because their drivers didn't perform on the level which is expected from him at the top category. That's where he sees his chance.

But M-Sport doesn't offer the contract that easily because they work with the drivers who bring them the money for drive They probably expect that Mikkelsen will bring them the sponsorship and pay with it for a drive.

If he is clever enough, he will decline that kind of a deal and wait for some better option. It is really hard to find a deal in Rally1 class so he should continue with WRC2 if nothing shows in the following months.
