oh don't worry. They'll find a way to screw it up... and not against a good opponent either. It'll be something like this. They will beat number 24 Illinois convincingly, make the world believe "oh my god? have the Huskers returned to glory?" Then lose the next two weeks to Purdue and Rutgers and then drop out of the 25 for the rest of the season. It's just normal for them.

Haha yeah, that could very well be. At least they don't have to face Ohio State, Oregon, and Michigan in their first four games of conference play? We (MSU) are going to get so destroyed. We might have a chance against U of M though.
I think in games like that it is important for MSU just to make it close. They don't really even need to win in order to rise in the rankings. People know how much better these top teams are and hopefully factor that in. That's one hell of a tough schedule though. I don't envy them!
How do you feel about Texas being rated number 1? My spidey-senses are tingling "paper tiger" here.
Yeah, at this point I think the collective MSU fanbase is just hoping for a decent bowl game at the end of the season. They aren't necessarily expecting a national or even conference championship. That early Iowa game might be less scary than I had anticipated too. I think Michigan's ranking was inflated to begin the season anyway, so I don't really think the Texas win there should hold much merit. That being said, they are looking good and Georgia didn't look great against Kentucky. They might not hold the #1 spot for long, but I think it is warranted at this point.
