McGregor brands are about to take a massive hit

McGregor is already feeling the heat from his recent guilty verdict in a civil court in Ireland stemming from sexual-assault charges for an incident back in 2018. While he was found not guilty in a criminal court, he was found guilty and ordered to pay more than 250,000 Pounds for something that happened in a hotel 6 years ago.

I'm not terribly familiar with the details and I don't know how someone can be financially liable for a crime they were acquitted of, but the law is a very complicated thing.

The first domino to fall was a video game cutting his likeness and voice from their game and being quite public about doing so, given the amount of retweets and reactions to this post, I think that a lot of other companies are going to start to feel the heat to cut Conor out as well.

Conor has his hands involved in a lot of things including two alcohol brands but it is my impression that he sold the brands quite some time ago. I would imagine that unless they can spin this in some sort of glorious way that they will cut him out as well even though he is merely the spokesperson for the booze. I have never tried either of the drinks but it is probably a case, just like all the energy drinks that other celebrities endorse or are paid by, that they are a product that is quite common and similar to other products that are only only popular because of the celebrity.

We can kind of forget about him being in movies anymore and as a movie watched I can't really say I am disappointed about that. I saw Roadhouse with McGregor in it and he is NOT a good actor.

I'm sure acting is tough but Conor basically played himself for all of his screentime and I wasn't impressed. It was right around that time that his fighting devotion started to seriously slip and he had to drop out of a highly-touted match vs. Michael Chandler because of a "toe injury" that was widely suspected of being fake and an excuse to cover up for other reasons that were never addressed.

UFC has stayed far away from this and Dana White is refusing, wisely, to answer questions about it at all. Conor and his team have stated that they are going to appeal the decision, but let's all be honest here, the damage is already done even if the ruling is overturned.

I believe that all sponsorship of McGregor is going to be pulled and for someone like him, that is basically the end of his money-making capabilities outside of fighting. Competitive fighting doesn't exactly have a track record of cutting out famous stars that are accused of sexual crimes (just look at Mike Tyson) and therefore this will have little to no impact on his earning capabilities in that realm. In a way, it could actually increase his payouts. But if you know anything about sports you already know that for the most part the athletes make dramatically more in sponsorships than they do in actual earnings via the sport.

I don't want to comment on whether or not I think that the victim Nikita Hand is telling the truth or not but I do know this: She could have scored a lot more than 250k Pounds in "hush money" rather than making this public, so that tends to make me believe that she is completely legitimate in her claims.

For the time being Conor would be very wise to disappear for a while and let the legal professionals handle his social media for a while. He also needs to stay out of trouble which seems to be really difficult for the guy. If Conor is smart, he will see that not responding and staying out of the public eye, is really the only way that he can save face and money at this point. Well let's be real here, McGregor has more than enough money to not do anything for the rest of his life, but his ability to maintain his celebrity is likely extremely damaged at this point.

I read somewhere that she could have got 6 x the court ruling if she had accepted an out of court settlement. I do believe her and shows you how someone can self destruct and this could bring an end to his career as he is now in the spot light for all the wrong reasons.

this isn't his first run in with the law. You might recall how he was busted, on camera at that, of assault, probably assault with malicious intent, destruction of property, and other things in NYC. Of course he got a sweetheart deal that would not have been offered to you or I had we been in the same position.
