Jake Paul wins again in a joke of a fight
Basically what I said in my previous post came to pass but at the same time it also made me question the "weighing in" process that boxing and other combat sports are meant to hold so dear. Jake Paul looked dramatically larger than Mike Perry so I am seriously questioning the authenticity of the official weights even though Paul was, on paper anyway, only about 5 lbs heavier than Perry.

I don't know if they were using selective camera angles during all the meetups that these two had during the press tour or what but I never really realized how much smaller Mike Perry is than Jake Paul until the fight was actually underway. I was in a bar and there were people there, mostly women, who didn't even know the fight was going to be on and I heard more than one person say something along the lines of "why is that guy so much smaller than the other one?"
It really shouldn't be that way either. Also, the disparities between the two doesn't end at the size differential. Mike Perry was flat-footed the entire time and wasn't even protecting himself properly. Has this guy ever had any boxing lessons or coaching? He was getting repeatedly touched with long distance jabs not because they were particularly well-placed jabs but because he didn't have his damn hands up. Perhaps this is the way that people protect themselves in BKFC because so few shots are thrown but in boxing? You have to, as they say "defend yourselves at all times."

Look at the above picture... did they have Perry stand a footstool or something? Because when they were in the ring that is not what it looked like at all. Furthermore, Paul had something like a 6 inch reach advantage and that makes a huge difference in combat sports that only involve your hands. This is why you don't normally see guys facing much shorter opponents and if you do, such as was the case with Mike Tyson, the shorter guy needs to be quicker and have an actual method that they use in order to get in range without getting struck down in the process. Mike Perry had none of these things and just walked through punches and paid the price for it.
Another thing that was irritating about this fight was that Jake Paul looked completely gassed after the first round. Did either of these guys even train for this fight or did they spend all of their time creating fake social-media hype in order to drive buys to the crazy $65 that people had to pay in USA to get the fight on pay-per-view?
The combat sports community is running wild with this: Other than people who are kissing Paul's ass in the hopes to be included in whatever farcical thing he does next, the combat-sports community has basically unanimously condemned the fight as being a joke that has no place in professional boxing. The weight difference, the lack of endurance, the lack of what appeared to be any boxing skills showcased by Mike Perry at all... all of this is under fire. The old conversation about how Jake Paul only takes on washed up MMA fighters and never pursues boxing actual boxers was put under the microscope as well. Of course his next opponent is a boxer, one of the best boxers of all time, but he is twice Jake's age and we all know how this is going to go down. There is a massive difference in physical fitness capabilities between someone that is under 30 and someone that is closing in on 60. The latter has no chance in meeting the physical capabilities of the former in fighting, regardless of how good their tactics or "fight IQ" was in the past. Age just doesn't work that way.
In other bad news for Perry, I hope he got paid a LOT for this because Conor McGregor has apparently fired Mike Perry from BKFC, which Conor just bought a part of recently.

I don't know if Conor actually has this authority or not, but that is the word on the street right now. He has enough clout that if he really wants Perry released, that is likely what will end up happening.
There is a reason why Jake Paul never calls out active boxers in his weight class and I wouldn't plan on that changing anytime soon. They must really get angry when he makes claims that he is going to be the boxing champion of the world when he is yet to face a ranked and active boxer. He and his brother are great businessmen, that much is for sure, but can Jake actually fight anyone that actually matters and it good at boxing? We still don't even know.
I think we can all agree that it is quite easy to win fights when you hand-select your opponents and based on how out of breath Jake was after a single round in this shit-show, I think we can come to the conclusion that Jake isn't even properly preparing for these events either.
t is all fake showman ship stuff for his social media fans who think he is a proper boxer lol. He cannot afford to get his ass whipped as they will see him for what he is.
the only time he faced a "real" boxer the boxer was a part timer and Jake lost. He definitely knows what he is doing in regards to this. It is just impossible for me to take him seriously as a boxer when he rigs the contests.
