My Actifit Report Card and Update: January 15 2025

Hi Everyone,

I’m back with another Actifit Report and Update. The weather has greatly improved. Hamlet the Happy Pig and Lily goat came out of the cold spell pretty well. Hamlet managed her hay well for a change; she didn’t toss it out into the mud. I guess she knew she needed to keep warm. We had around ten days in a row where the temperature dipped below zero for at least several hours each day.

I have managed to remain reasonably active. It’s good to be able to exercise in the house when the weather is bad. The exercise bike has helped a lot. I needed to get back to exercising after being sick at the end of last year.

My Content

I’ve had a busy week on Hive. I posted two blogs. One of them was my 2025 playoff and Super Bowl predictions, and the other was the reposting of my 2011 ATRF conference paper.

Every year, I make predictions about the NFL playoffs. I have been pretty close to being correct a few times. Last year, I correctly predicted the Chiefs Super Bowl appearance. So far, this year, I have predicted 4 out of 6 games correctly. Both my Super Bowl predictions are still in (Ravens and Lions).

Posting my conference paper took a little longer than I initially anticipated. The equations were very tricky as they were saved in a special equation for Microsoft Word. They were neither pictures nor text. Therefore, I converted them to pictures. They look a little strange, but it was the best approach. I also needed to convert tables to pictures. Most of them would have been too big to embed in the post without reducing font size. Anyway, I think the post turned out quite well. Most importantly, it preserves the content on the blockchain, and I don’t need to worry about searching for the links to the paper after they have been changed.

My Book is Out

Outside of Hive, I completed and published my new book, Sapien Loop: Frozen in Time on Amazon. This book will be available for free this coming weekend (18 and 19 January), and so will the original Sapien Loop book. I strongly recommend that you grab it while it’s free. From Monday onwards, they will both be priced £7.

If you enjoyed the first book, you should enjoy the second. It has similar themes to the first, but in some ways it is more ambitious as it brings two worlds together. It is both a sequel and a prequel. The end of the story is left wide open for the third book, which I plan to release two years from now.

In around a week, I will begin the first Sapien Loop quiz for the year. I intend to include one question from the prologue of the new book. That’s your first incentive to begin reading.
