My Actifit Report Card: and Update: June 21 2022
Hi Everyone,
It's Actifit time again. It has been just under a week since my previous report. This is slightly sooner than normal. I finished my posts a little quicker this week. So, I choose to push the report a day sooner. It is often delayed by things that happen, which draws me from the computer.
I bought a new pair of shoes for work around the house and garden. My old shoes are worn out. I abused them a little last year by wearing them in the muddy garden. The mud caused them to wear out faster by damaging the soles and pulling on the seams. Eventually, the front of the soles ripped off. I glued them back with Gorilla glue but that did not last long. Therefore, I bought some new shoes. These shoes should be more durable for work around the house and garden. The toe is steel capped. That will prevent my toes from getting crushed; it has happened before. The soles are extra durable and have air pockets to protect my feet if I stand on any sharp objectives . What's also cool is that they are red. My thumbnail contains pictures of my old and new shoes (bottom right-hand corner of thumbnail).
My Content
I posted twice since my previous report. In my first post, I discussed competition and markets. In my second post, I started another Buying and Selling Game Contest.
Competition is essential to the operation of markets. It incentivises more efficient production, responsiveness to customers needs, quality products, and affordable prices. Competition enables the strongest firms to thrive and pushes out the weaker firms. Competition also exists between customers. Customers compete to gain access to goods and services. Some will act quickly not to miss out and others are willing to pay a higher price.
Free markets are not perfect as they are not able to always address our needs and wants. Governments take advantage of this weakness by intervening in the market or by providing the goods and services themselves. However, this often makes matters worse. Read the post for a more detail explanation.
The business version of the Buying and Selling Game returned. This time participants are required to sell shoes. Should they sell formal shoes, running shoes, indoor shoes, or a combination of these? How much should they sell them for? The participant who makes the highest profit wins. First 12 entries receive an upvote. This contest will return for the upcoming 7-Week Challege Series (less than 2 months away). I choose shoes for this contest because I just bought some new shoes. The idea is fresh in my head. I'm often inspired by what's happening in my life off the blockchain.
This brings this Actifit Report and Update to an end. I hope everyone has a great week. If the weather is good, you might as well go out and enjoy it. Summers don't last long in the UK but it might be different in your country..
