My Actifit Report Card and Update: June 7 2022
Hi Everyone,
It's time for my Actifit Report and Update. The summer is off to a cool start with temperatures barely meeting the mid teens. There hasn't been much rain even though it has been forecasted. We've had just a few short showers here and there.
The weather has been good enough for me to get out and do some work in the garden. I focused on two tasks. The first task involved digging the ground on the top level to create some room for the gate to open towards the top level. Previously, the slope prevented the gate opening in that direction. The reason for enabling the gate to open that way is prevent Lily Goat from sneaking under the gate when it opens into her area. The steps leading up to the gate create a big gap underneath the gate when it is opened.
The second task was to mow the grass on the top level. This was much more difficult than hoped. The top level has lots of large stones. These stones prevent the mower from crossing the ground easily. I had to move as many I could. I threw most of them into Lily goat's and Hamlet's area. I doubt I'll need to cut the grass in their area for a while. The edges of the top level sink down a little making them difficult to get at with a mower. The strimmer struggles with these areas too. They will need trimming manually. The area has attracted a lot of tough weeds which make things a bit difficult too.
My Content
I had another busy week posting. I completed two fairly analytical posts. In one post, I discussed Freedom as a path to happiness. In the other post, I compared centralised and decentralised decision-making.
Freedom puts our own happiness in our own hands. It is not a guarantee we will achieve it but it offers opportunities. To make full use of these opportunities we need to understand ourselves, the people around us, our circumstances, and our environment. The post discusses how we can make decisions that can improve our happiness as well as how to learn from our past.
Centralisation and decentralisation both have their advantages and their disadvantages. People tend to strongly one favour over the other. Governments and bureaucracies strongly push towards centralisation. People involved with or drawn to cryptocurrencies strongly favour decentralisation. I lean more strongly towards decentralised decision-making. However, I am aware of some of advantages that centralisation has over decentralisation. Therefore, I believe complete decentralisation is not viable. The biggest argument in favour of centralisation is efficiency. This argument holds less weight than it used to as technology such as blockchain improves the efficiency of decentralised decision-making and governance.
That wraps up this Actifit Report and Update. I hope everyone has a great week. I'll back in about a week with my next report and update.
