Hey @stickchumpion, welcome to "Crypto Skaters"

  • Hello to all my fellow skate hiver people rolling around , posting footage and growing the Hive community.

Can you tell us a few things about you?

  • Well I am 43 years young . I play drums in a few bands Lizard brain, Trash culture and Virvon Varvon. Like to skate whenever every I can and make silly videos to post on Hive. Besides that I like to play gods unchained.

What's you background with skateboarding?

  • I got started cause of my older brother so I dont actually know when I started probably around 5 years old and then cause big brother skated I just kept doing it.

Favourite Skater and video part?

  • I dont have a particular part but would say the first two h street videos . "Shackle me not" and "Hokus Pokus" . It was not only the skating that inspired me but also the wide range of music .
Most of the music was local bands and musicians so had that raw DIY edge and not a slick musical product.

How did you get involved with crypto and why?

  • Around the age of 30 I started studying for a degree in Economics and this therfore perked my interest in money in general. I then started watching the news channel "russia today" and came upon the political and economical finance commentator Max Keiser. It was through watching his show that I got into crypto and read up about it . July 2017 I made my first crypto purchase and the Aug 2017 I found steemit which is now called Hive.

How did you find out about Skatehive?

  • It's funny cause I was on steeemit for a while before I posted any skate content . I mainly made music on steemit and that was my main focus . Then one day out of thr blue your prev guest @web-gnar did steemskate and he linked us all up and that's how I met @knowhow92. Since then I have skated with both webgnar and knowhow . I was so stoked to have my final interest included in my crypto blogs.

Kickflips or Heelflips?

  • I am definitely a kickflipper. I recently tried a heelflip and for me personally it had too much credit card potential.

In your opinion, how can Web3 change skateboarding?

  • I think the best way web3 can change skateboarding is by really showcasing the power of community . Too many crypto projects focus on making money for the individual but I think web3 can help skateboarding by being able to generate money and send it to those that need it. In an ideal world we would have pro skateboarders harnessing the power of web3 for control of their own content and wealth however I think it will be more effective if we keep building and helping each other as a community. This can be done through donating to gofundme endevours or helping people raise money to build a skatespot where skateboarding is still super small.

Any Web 3 communities you're part of and wanna mention other than Skatehive?

  • I think the only community I am involved with is the Gods unchained community . Gods unchained is a play to earn card game which has a presence on Hive especially people like @copperpitch
I am currently traversing between web3 communities and traditional social media only because I find the two to be mutually inclusive and not mutually exclusive . I think both mainstream social media can learn alot from web3 in terms of securing personal ownership however web3 can learn from traditional social media in terms of on boarding alot of users

What should we expect from @stickchumpion in 2023?

  • I have a really cool project that I am busy filming at the moment , dont want to mention too much until I have filmed 10 episodes but it's gonna involve alot of travel around London to over 100 destinations.
Besides that I am gonna keep on coming up with weird ideas and using Hive as my beloved vessel to nest all these ideas. I would also like to keep helping out Skatehive as much as I can with edits and just generally boosting the profile of skatehive and web3skating.

Any last words for those reading or anything you wanna mention?

  • If you like card games check out God's unchained . I also like splinterlands but this has been taking up my time .
Just remember art stands for artefact so keep creating stuff and putting it out there for the world to see . Some people might not like it however as long as it represents your experiences with this thing called life ...
    Ya alright.
