Football won this weekend!
It was a good weekend, very good. Football won this week, despite "Simeone Haram Ball" triumphing. Actually scratch that. It was so, BECAUSE "Simeone Haram Ball" triumphed over Real Madrid. Real Madrid were so bad that even their all time friend - the referees couldn't do anything.
I mean they did try ruling out a couple of Atletico Madrid goals by checking for offside.
To add context, the goals they were checking they were actually so far from being offside that anywhere else in the world, in any game elsewhere, even the thought of checking for offside would not be in question. Look at it like this - you would never check for offside in a penalty goal, right? That's how ridiculous those offside checks were.
I have been saying this from day 1 of this season - This real Madrid team is as shit as it gets without the referees help. And I was proven right the very first time this season they faced a real strong opposition. Their backline was exposed naked by the presence of Griezmann, Morata, Koke and Saul. Their attacking line was proven toothless as soon as they faced a solid defensive unit that can hold their own fortress for the length of the full game.
It was especially satisfying to watch Nahuel Molina take Fran Garcia to the washer down the right wing (Real madrid's left back). Real Madrid fans and commentators were hyping him too much for no reason. And to think they've been comparing him to Balde LOL!
Jude Bellingham is a talented player sure, but the way the real madrid fanbase was hyping him to be the best midfielder in the world was ridiculous. But they are always so delusional that it's rarely possible to reason with them with logic. So again, the first time they face a proper opponent their prized "tap-in merchant" went missing. I mean really though, what had Bellingham done since arriving at Real madrid, besides scorin the tap ins of course?
Nothing. Period.
You can show me the full time ratings and say look Bellingham is getting 8 or 9. To that, I will tell you - do you even watch the real madrid games? Take Real's first champions league game for example. Till the 93rd minute Bellingham's rating was 5.5. He scores (again, a Tap-in of course) in the 94th minute and his rating is all of a sudden what - 8.8? 9?
You're telling me a player who has been so bad that the entire game all of a sudden is a 9 star rated for that game? You're delusional, that's what you are!
"Gavi is a foul merchant." "He is too hot headed." "His is disgraceful." These are the common notions the Madrid fanbase throws at Gavi. I would like to know what are their thoughts after that nasty challenge by Bellingham for no reason at all just because they were losing. I am telling you here, this bellingham kid has a very bad temper - it will show out eventually. Go watch the Getafe game and you'll know what I'm talking about. He is as disgraceful as it gets. It should have been a straight Red card last night for bellingham following that challenge. Well, the referees had to do something for real madrid to justify their paychecks from papa perez!
On a different note, it was just confirmed that Frenkie de Jong will be out until november 7th, meaning we are going to miss him for the all important el classico.
The Madrid fanbase is pretty disgusting. I remember when the important Real madrid players were getting injuries early this season, every Barca pafe were posting wishing them well. As soon as FDJ left the field yesterday, I was seeing tweets from Madrid fans hoping de jong has torn his ACL and is out for the season. Repulsive stuff!
I have kept saying since my high school days - anyone and everyone who supports Real Madrid fall in one of 3 categories -
- Does not understand football and only looked at the trophies to choose which team to support.
- Understands football, but doesn't really watch the real madrid matches.
- Has no integrity as a human being - Understands football, watches real madrid matches and still chooses to support the corruption.
Anyways, it's time pretty evident Fermin Lopez is going to get some game time this month. I have seen him in the pre season and he seemed pretty promising. Understands the game situation well, hold his own in tight spaces, can score from the distance - and Xavi clearly thinks very highly of his attitude. It's time he grabs his opportunity to shine and develop.
Couldnt watch the game because wanted to catch up on a few series I want to write about, I knew all those injuries would catch them at some point, Bellingham cant safe all games and Rodrigo needs Vini to perform to be honest, merits to Atletico they are a great team too so this was no walk on the parl for RM
The problem with la liga is outside the top 3 teams Barca, atleti and RM, the other teams are just not good enough to keep up the intensity for the whole 90 minutes. They can perform well for about 60-70 minutes and keep madrid in check but towards the end madrid somehow finds a goal and wins. It already happened multiple times this season, even in the champions league. But Atleti are a proper team and they exposed madrid for what they truly are.
