“Let’s Get Ready To Rumble!”😊
“Storm’s coming Silvertop!”😮
I quickly finished my chores this morning, I wanted to get outside and start planting my baby trees!🤗
Yesterday was pure sunshine, but the day was occupied ……………
New summer tires were needed to be mounted for the Mrs Suzuki, and that was a first priority!😇
“Liz, I’m going to start planting our trees first thing Wednesday morning!”🥰
Did I just feel a raindrop?🤔
Ohh …No….how do they say it………..
“The best laid plans of Mice and Men!”🙄
The temperatures today weren’t behaving like Springtime weather…………..
I laid up some kindling in the wood stove and struck a match……………
Burrr…..I think it’s getting colder!🥶
“Cot tomorrow is the Spring equinox my boy! Twice a year the Sun perfectly aligns with the equator! In the northern hemisphere, this marks the beginning of spring!”😻
Both Cot, and his brother Cyle, were sprawled out in front of the warm glowing woodstove!😻
I can see that I am on my own planting trees today Lol!🤣😇
The trees I planted today are called “Shore Pines”! They are related to the Lodgepole pine, only shorter. They can grow 20 to 50 feet tall, and they adapt well along the Ocean shores, or land with poor soil.
That pretty much describes the soil I planted these trees in today Lol!😅
A few inches of topsoil, and then I hit what is called hardpan! 😮
It’s extremely hard compacted dirt and rock! Each hole needs to be extremely oversized, and fresh topsoil needs to be brought in to give these trees a good start!😇
By 2:30PM six trees had a new home, and Silvertop was spent Lol!😅
“ Move over Cot, dad needs a little downtime time by the warm wood stove fire as well!”☺️
