“We’re Back In The Saddle Again!” 🤗 My Actifit Report Card: March 1 2025

“We’re Back In The Saddle Again!”🤗
“Liz, I need till 1PM today to put all the electronics back on line!”🥰
Silvertop was up extra early today, the Mrs had a coupon for a FREE Coffee at a newly opened Coffee shop…… I needed to hurry!😊
I began transitioning the electric appliances in the house from “Grid” to Solar powered electric…..one at a time………
I unplugged my ARRR Pirate full node computer, from grid and plugged it back into a Solar outlet.
Liz then had to “Bootstrap” the computer back up, while I went from appliance to appliance unplugging and re plugging!😅
My new batteries were charging up nicely!
Lead acid batteries have three charging algorithms………
First is Bulk charging, bringing the batteries up to 29.6 volts for my 24 volt system.
Then after they reach 29.6 Volts, the Absorption stage holds this voltage for a pre determined time. I have my Computers set to Absorb for 180 minutes.
After 180 minutes, the computers drop the voltage down to the “Float” setting of 26.4 Volts!😊
As long as we have Sun, the computers will hold this Voltage steady all day long!
We were back!🤗
“Honey I can monitor how our our Solar System is operating from my iPhone, we are good to go!”😅
“Silvertop, we can swing by the Lynden city park for a hike, then a Free Coffee in town!”🥰
“That sounds like a very nice way to spend the rest of day Liz!”☺️
Till tomorrow…….. “we’ll leave the lights on”….Lol Silvertop Mike😊

It is nice to have the solar power back! I don't like paying PSE any more than we have to!

The park was nice, the coffee good and the company even better!🤗💕

my future plan is to have that kind of system in my house, with some garden in it, should be nice to be able to afford that kind of thing. ;)
I am happy that you can finish up all the electricity on time, so you and Mrs. can enjoy the coffee at the new place, I wish that it will a nice one. :)

Well done, glad to hear it's back up and running! Not an uncomplicated system it sounds like... I hope that free coffee was good and you got in some great hiking too!

This is why most people go with complete grid tie electric.....
Very simple no upkeep!😇
But when the power goes down, standard grid tie goes down as well, that's the benefit of a battery based system!😇😀

It sounds like you had a another wonderfully productive and adventurous day, @silvertop! Transitioning your electric appliances to solar power is such a great initiative, and it's fascinating to hear about the charging algorithms for your lead-acid batteries. It's impressive how you're harnessing the power of the sun to keep your systems running smoothly.

A free coffee at a newly opened coffee shop is always a treat, especially after a rewarding morning of setting up your solar-powered home. And a hike at Lynden City Park followed by that coffee sounds like a perfect way to spend the day with Liz. 😊

Enjoy the rest of your day, and here's to more sunny days ahead! "We'll leave the lights on"—that's a great motto! Lol 😄
