Who’s Having A Meltdown! 😳
Just that quick, I think it’s time to put away my ice skates!🙄
Heavy rain overnight, has removed most of the snow at the lower elevations, and left a layer of water on the local pond!😮
It’s amazing how the snow conditions change the higher in elevation I hike…….
The second photo is my road, almost completely bare!
The fourth photo is the first switch back on my neighbor Keith and Lynne’s mile long uphill driveway, several hundred feet higher uphill. The next, is their second switch back, and the following, the entrance to the third switch back………….
You can see the difference!😮
Silvertop was back to a Winter wonderland up top!😊
I was wondering why Keith still had his Tesla chained up, and parked at the bottom of the road……now I see why!🙄
I slowly picked my way uphill, choosing my steps carefully between sections of melting ice, and loose snow.
Just a glimmer of Sun was peaking through the clouds today………
Just enough, to brave this change in the Weather!
Outside is always a better choice!😇
As I descended, the rains started again……..
That’s OK, Silvertop will keep hiking up into the snow…….. until it’s gone!😊

It definitely changes dramatically within a few hundred feet you can have snow or no snow Lol😇

that icy slope looked to dangerous to walk on.
You definitely need to be careful and pick your way through, it is icy!🥶
i once had a similar situation last year. a downhill road was icy and people were slipping. we walked on the edges where there were visible grasses, that saved us
That's always the best plan my friend.....
Walk where no one has driven or walked before and you will be OK!👍😇😀

Glad things are starting to melt, it will give you some more time to be outdoors and enjoy the day. Sounds like you were right on the snow line, high places got more snow and lower more a mix!

Sounds like Mother Nature couldn't decide whether to bring winter or spring! The drastic shift in conditions you’ve experienced from different elevations is truly fascinating. It must be quite an adventure to hike through such varied landscapes in a single outing. Keith's decision to chain up his Tesla makes perfect sense with those icy conditions at higher elevations. Choosing your steps carefully between melting ice and loose snow must have been quite the trek.
