Silvertop waters batteries Lol!😇
Maintaining an off grid Solar powered home requires the regular service of deep cycle batteries.
Once a Month I pull the caps,and top up each battery cell with distilled water…….
For the twelve batteries I have, this usually takes a little over a quart of water for all batteries.
These batteries have been reliably supplying electricity to our home for 4 1/2 years…..
When I pulled the caps this morning most of the cells were extremely low on water!😮
That’s not a good sign, these batteries are at the end of their life……………
Thankfully our home is a hybrid, very similar to a Prius!😊
We run on Solar Power, but we also have “Grid Electricity” if needed.
One appliance at a time I switched each back to Grid Power……..
“ Alexa, are you there?”😮
“ I’m here Silvertop, I listen when I hear the “Wake” word!”😊
Well……….that’s good, Alexa switched right over to grid power!😇
“ I guess that’s all I can do for today Cot! We are 100% back on grid electricity, till we pick up new batteries this weekend, I’m going hiking……. Care to join Dad?
Cot didn’t seem to inclined….. he rolled over and went back to sleep Lol!😻

Hmmm, 🤔 I've been thinking of adding more capacity to my solar power backup generator. My Inergy is good in a pinch, but it could be better.

How brilliant is it to have that hybrid setup, @silvertop. Being able to transition smoothly back to grid power appliance by appliance ensures you always have a steady supply. I was electrician in Colorado, so I was able to install the complete system myself @silversaver888😊
We are on our way today to Costco, that’s where I will pick up 12 new deep cycle batteries !👍😊

Sorry to hear the batteries are wearing out, I'm sure they aren't cheap! Great exercise there, seven and a half miles, not too shabby! I hope the weather today has been good!
The best place in town to buy these batteries is Costco. $109 a pop I need 12 batteries.
Today they told us it would probably be 3 to 4 weeks to order them !🙄
