I was hiking to the Eastern side of the Mountain today, when I spotted these……………..😮
Normally you hang these bags in the Spring, when the sap used for maple syrup, is starting to rise.
If I see my friends Keith and Lynne, I will ask if they have had any luck collecting sap…………..😀
Back to today’s hike………………😀
I took my friend @thebighigg advice, and started my numerous Christmas chores early today!😇
Still I started my hike later in the day than I planned Lol!🤣
I was hiking a “ Round Robin” today!
This is a term I learned from my flying days. Basically you are starting at point A, going to point B, and returning on the same path home!😇
You can estimate your time very closely on a hike like this.
This is important, with the winter solstice only days away, daylight hours are very short!
I was standing on the ridge top, deep in the Mountains when I snapped the photo of my Fitbit!
3:15 PM one hour into my hike, and one hour till sunset……………
It was time to head home!
Most of the snow, except for the peaks has melted.
That can happen early in December!🙄
I started snapping photos, I only had a few minutes………..
In the second to last photo you can see young Douglas Fir trees far below down in the valley!
A Mountain pass cuts this valley in half, called “South Pass”. This will take you further up in the Mountains, eventually to Mount Baker ski area!😀
Time to go Silvertop, you don’t want to become dinner for the local Mountain Lions Lol!😺
Cot my “ Baby Mountain Lion” back home, is probably wondering where Dad is Lol!😻
