One of Silvertop’s neighbors Keith, was referring to a way out of our road in the second photo…… in case of an emergency!
“ Do you see a road Liz Lol!”🤣
My good friend @silversaver888 just put out a post today, talking about how important it is to have neighborhood community interaction!😀
That’s what our neighborhood was doing…….. we were brainstorming!😊
With the recent wind storm, that took out electricity, and blocked the road with a very large Maple tree, the neighborhood gathered together to discuss an emergency exit!
We only have one way in, and one way out!😮
“ Silvertop you might scratch your car a little, but it’s all downhill!”😇

“ Liz, is Keith going to drive his shiny red Tesla down THAT trail!”😳
The next four photos Silvertop snapped on today’s hike. This is the emergency “road” that Keith is talking about………….
It snakes through deep forest, then drops steeply down into a Douglas Fir forest, owned by Westergreen the logger!
On foot this most definitely is an escape route. From Westergreen’s Forest, it continues steeply downhill, connecting to county roads close to Canada!
Silvertop, and Liz know these trails, like the back of our hand!😇
One of the ways we stay healthy is by hiking these mountains!
This also gives us the endurance to hike miles under ideal conditions, and not so ideal emergency conditions!😅
If it was ever needed, the two of us could lead our neighbors to safely……………..or just guide them on a beautiful Fall hike in the Cascade Mountains!🤗

Yeah, I don't think I'd take the car that way unless being persued by a wildfire! Otherwise, by foot is the best way for sure!

Is it a designated and maintained fire trail. We have a few near us which the local council maintain and use for access to different power lines.

Always have a backup plan. Very smart move, you never know. Especially living out in the remote mountains.
