Silvertop was soaked………………😅
While Liz was on a work call from home, I was outside removing Spiderwebs on our back porch with an electric leaf blower, getting ready to paint!
This actually works really well guys !🤗
Silvertop was dry under the covered porch………..
I only started “melting” getting TO the outside porch and back Lol!🤣😅
The Mrs was finally finished with work, and looking out at the rain she asked………
“ Silvertop do we needed anything from the Dollar Tree store in town?”🥰
Hmmm…….
“It’s not really hiking weather honey, let’s drive to town!”
First stop was to drop off a book at the library.
That’s when I spotted four very large fires burning along the ridge top of Sumas Mountain!😳
The loggers are burning left over brush, and with the rain pouring down it’s the safest time to burn.
We continued on into town, the Fall color along the Mountain Pass, is still very impressive!😀
Of course after shopping Liz looked over at Silvertop and said………………..
“ Honey, do you want to stop and get a Latte and a mocha!”🥰
Guys, Silvertop has a few weaknesses……
One is Liz, and the other is a steaming hot Latte Lol!😇
As the Sun was setting, I snapped the third and fourth photo of the fires burning. You would think it would take a lot of gasoline or diesel fuel to keep these fires burning in a downpour?🤔
Then just imagine being at the top of Sumas Mountain trying to burn these fires………..in the dark, in the pouring down rain, in a very isolated location!😮
Not exactly the way I would want to spend a cold rainy evening!🥶
“ Liz it’s good to be home, I’ll light the fire……. I think it’s time to write my post for tonight!”😇

That would be hard to keep those fires burning in the pouring rain. But they have to clean up the site so the can plant new trees there in the spring to replace the ones they log out. And it make sense to do it on a rainy day because it's not likely to spread.

The mocha latte is also my favorite😜 They are careful fires, right? That's why they do it during the rainy season. Not like in Argentina where they purposely burn some crazy person loose, it usually happens in Bariloche in the south or in the mountains of Cordoba. One night I spent the night in Cordoba with the mountains burning red and I was sleeping with one eye open.
