My Actifit Report Card: January 25 2022
The Twilight Zone 😳…………
Today’s hike was later than planned, Liz wanted to run to the Post Office in town.🥰
The fog once again (Partly Sunny skies Lol)🤣, was extremely thick again!
As we passed one of the Churches in town I spotted FEMA set up in the parking lot.
Jan was telling us they have also set up in Sumas at our Church, and in the nearby town of Lynden.
Flood relief for the many families, many without flood insurance.
We hurried back home to set up Maple syrup taps on a few trees.
Silvertop was extremely skeptical, we had tried to tap a few trees last year in mid February, and got zero sap!🤔
A Month earlier this year, and when I removed the drill bit from the first tree sap started running out quickly!🤗
That project started we hiked into the fog!
Once again as we crested the High Trail, I was able to snap the last beautiful Sunset photo, above the fog covered valley!☺️
Liz wanted to hurry home before dark to check the sap we were harvesting.
In only a few hours we collected what looks to be a gallon of tree sap!
“Liz, I think we need more buckets Lol!”

Who would've thought? Just wait until the weekend! Then comes the real fun.....boiling all that tree sap and getting just a little syrup, but a little is okay, as long as it's enough for pancakes! Thanks for drilling the taps honey! 🤗😘❤️🌳
