Playing Pickleball @Dink Avenue
There's a new pickleball place to play in Subang Jaya called Dink Avenue. I joined a session from reclub with a friend. It was only RM8 and for two hours. They also had paddle testing for those interested and they gave a free 100 plus so this was a super worth session in my opinion.
Honestly, I downloaded this reclub app recently and it's not bad. I played yesterday for a social game for the first time with all strangers and I felt uncomfortable so I didn't play my best but today was a lot better when I had a friend with me. I'm not sure if I will join sessions alone in the future and that session was a bit expensive since the host tries to profit.
Here you can see the layout. They have six courts with the courts on the side being a bit more competitive since balls won't roll across like the two pairs of courts in the middle. They have a nice lounge area to sit at. The proshop was not there yet from what I've seen and the toilet was better than average.
This place was nice but the only issue I felt they had was the spacing. There was one side of the net where the back didn't have enough space so it's hard to receive deep balls without hitting or backing into the wall. Another issue was the structural support for the buildings. It was unfortunately in between the nets so if you wanted to have some ATP highlights, it would be super hard. You would have a really narrow spot to get it in.
I played together with my friend for all the matches. We won all our matches! We played together to practice for a session on Wednesday where I will finally get my DUPR rating which is the rating system for pickleball. I still have doubts whether or not it's accurate but it's ok because if I get a decent rating, it will probably benefit me in getting accepted for sessions on reclub at least that's what I was told because who doesn't want to play with good players. I'm aiming to get a 3.5 and hopefully end the year at 4 but let's see how it goes.

lol that RM8 is cause court testing. if normal to join the sessions like 25+ leh.
for the courts though, i think nonpeak average maybe 45-50 and peak hour per average 70+ per hour
Still very much affordable.

Till now I never know how pickleball works, also because I am really bad with bats and balls, I have stayed away from this sport at the moment haha.
(Imagine I cannot even play basic ping pong .... yikes!)
By the way, I just heard that there is Pickleball Tournament) starting! This Sunday one of my choir members is competing.
haha there's a lot of pickleball tournaments already. This Sunday one I think it a doubles one not sure. I heard from a guy last night about playing in one.
You should try playing. It's actually easier than pingpong I feel if you play with other people that are new or I don't know you might end up playing pickupball :o. I recommend playing non-peak hours or can be a bit expensive. give it a try with family.
Probably if I can get my 3 monkey munchkins to spend some time with me, we might give it a try. Right now they are all eat-homework-sleep-coursework-assignment-exams and then when they have time they work part-time haha.
o.o well gotta have some family time leh. u gotta get them active have a life outside of just schoolwork
