Everything Changed

It was way back when I was a teenager. It was the time when I got a PS3 and a game called Call of Duty Black Ops 1. If I recall, my mom got me this PS3 because I told her I wanted one after playing on one at a friend's house during a group assignment. Anyways getting this PS3 changed me a lot.

Before getting this PS3, I was a normal teenager that loved to play video games on his free time. After getting the PS3, I feel that it kind of pushed me towards a video game addiction which I didn't have before. I would end up spending a lot of time playing Call of Duty 1 on their multi-player mode or playing zombies.

This bad habit of spending too much time on video games really had a huge impact in my life at that time. Looking back, I'm not really sure how it consumed me. I used to be very passionate about sports especially soccer and tennis. I played a lot of tennis. I remember spending the whole summer and weekends at Broadstone Sports Club playing tennis. I gradually lost interest in tennis though after getting the PS3. I remember I would just try to play with my online friend Cold-Shoulder who was like way older than me but it was fun. We played and talked a lot of shit to kids playing the game with our headsets. Besides passion for sports, I lost a lot of time and I also felt that I got kind of annoyed and angered easily when I was playing which wasn't good because it made me rude to my mom sometimes.

The past is the past though. There's not really anything I can do to change it but looking back I do have a sense of regret. I wonder if back then I could've been a great tennis player. There was a time where I did think of trying to get to play at the pro level but it was only thoughts.

Not too long ago, I suddenly had the feeling to play tennis again so I found this social group through Facebook and joined their WhatsApp group. It's pretty chill because you can just drop in and play with people that like to play tennis. Everyone that I've met so far is friendly. I didn't play in a long time though so I totally suck now!

Anyways that's a wrap for this weekend. I shared a true story of a bad habit of playing too much videos games which cost me my passion for sports and a lot of time that I could've spent to do something more productive.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

I think I missed again to share my weekend experience. Actually in holiday I didn't even realize when the weekend came and ebb out. Lol..
No problem next weekend I will share my weekend experience. Likewise nothing happening unusual so it is very difficult task 2 share about weekend experience.

Are you triggered more by visual stimuli or by touch and feel? Explain your answer with examples. (Bonus points for posts about whether you like the light on or off during sex.) Remember to use your own photos.

What would you rather be doing instead of what you're actually doing this weekend and why? Remember to use your own photos.

Have you ever gained or lost something or someone because of a habit (good or bad) of yours? No fictional writing, this must be a true story. Remember to use your own photos.

Do you prefer to dress up or dress down, (dress more casually), on the weekend? Explain, and don't forget to use your own photos.

I think I went through a similar phase during my early 20s with MMORPGs and MOBAs. I was playing so much and not doing other kinds of social activities. It was a messy time. I haven't done much sports lately, but this year I'm working on that issue. Anyways, glad you could find a group to get back into one of those sports you like.

I guess we did both have a similar phase. Call of Duty wasn't the only game but I think it started from there. I also liked playing League of Legends even though it was toxic and Super Smash. MMOS were fun at a time but then they just got too grindy for me. Do you still game now tho?

Thank you though. It's actually not too hard I think to find a group. There's a lot of groups out there on facebook for any sport or game that can be found if put a bit of effort. maybe you can do that since you getting back into sports this year :D

I'm more of a working out person than a sports guy.

I still play but just create content out of the things I'm playing. At least, that's what I like to do with that.

It's often prudent to find some balance in life, when one is older and looks back after having done so, one typically will hold less regrets.

Thanks for opening up about your video game addiction/potential addiction.

Yes you are right! I still don't think I've reached the balance yet but hopefully as I grow up it can get there but since I'm young its important for me to just keep working and making money I think.

I'm not addicted anymore . I enjoy playing; it's not as crazy as before and I don't play PS3 anymore but I do miss playing. How about you Galen? Did you never play video games when you were younger? I know you hate video games but I don't think you ever told me the story of how that came to be.

When a person is young is the opportune time to get set up financially but it's also the best time to devise strategies and create habits that will pay dividends as one moves though life...as someone who has done so, and reaped massive rewards from it, I can assure you there's value in it.

I played a video game or two, remember the Atari 2600? (It's doubtful you will.) I never had one, but a friend did and I played it a few times.

I was around 17 years old or so when computers came into my world (1987) but I had so many (much) better things to devote my time to (and I'm glad that was the case - see first comment above). I learned how to use a computer for communication and work but wasn't a gamer. I played some Ghost Recon for several months in about the year 2001 (online with my brothers), but soon lost interest in that.

I live in the real world and never saw video games as valuable enough to my life to do them with any real passion. Fortunately I have worked at other pursuits and have had financial success and a pretty amazing and fulfilled life for that reason. I'll never go back to video games. Life is a very short thing, unpredictable too, and I don't see much value in spending it in front of a gaming console living a pretend life that actually has no tangible value. Some see it as relaxing and I guess it might be for an hour or so, but life is not on a screen, it can be touched, heard, smelled, tasted...it's there to be lived in reality. That's my take on it...of course some may prefer to live their life in a pretend world that will ultimately cease to exist when the end of the game is reached.

So, no I don't have time for gaming, or any inclination to do it. Life is more than a game could ever be and the sooner a person realises and embraces that the better their life will be.

wow atari 2600. Yes I've heard about this and seen it before in pictures but yes this is too ancient for me. I never played Ghost Recon either. If not wrong the first games I played were Mario and pokemon.

I live in the real world and never saw video games as valuable enough to my life to do them with any real passion

I see that's a fair take on it since everyone has different views on things and different passions in life.

There are some people that do it for a living though as a pro gamer or a streamer and of course the people that create them. I think it's cool that they get to do what they love, make a living off it and have financial success. I actually had a dream when I was younger to be able to make money from gaming. who knows maybe in the coming years web3 gaming will really make a place and people will be able to earn a living from it. It's like pre video days who would've imagined in the past that people would make money filming themselves in their life and uploading it online

This topic i guess would have a lot of vary opinions on who explains their thoughts. I can understand and respect your perspective on it even though I may not feel the same way. I'm glad you were able to explain your stance so I could understand why some people may not be too fond of video games.

Have a great weekend! Thanks for hosting as usual and reading my post and everybody elses.
