I remember back in the good old days, in 2001 I was working for a marketing company in Kelowna, British Columbia. We would have all these workshops and training exercises on the importance of goal setting. Everyone else in are office was writting down goals like "becoming a millionaire " or "running their own office " or "getting promoted " But with me I wrote down "hanging out with Tom Green" It seemed like a crazy goal and maybee a little unrealistic. Back then I didn't care that much about money, I cared more about having fun. I thought meeting Tom Green would be hilarious.
Finally fast forward twenty-two years, Tom Green was touring for yuk yuks and doing a comedy bit here in Sarnia. The wife and I just moved into a new apartment and I also had to pay to get my car fixed, so funds were pretty short and the show was 50 bucks and also sold out.
I also had to take the wife to get groceries so we could have something to eat, Finally get the wife home at 7. And then I said to the wife, "I am going to meet Tom Green now" She said to me " I won't be surprised if security grabs you and kicks you off the property "
So I took a little walk to The Imperial Theatre, still had lots of time, his show didn't start until seven thirty PM
I went through the back alley, I thought for sure that's where he would be.
And I was correct, there he was standing in front of two film crew guys, and I said "Hey Tom" and then he said come on over and we will interview you. I thought the interview went great and it was pretty funny. Towards the end he said "here I have something for you" then he reached into his pockets, I thought it was going to be a vip ticket or maybee some Tom Green stickers or something like that, but he grabbed a twenty dollar bill and gave it to me.

That was pretty neat, I actually achieved one my my goals. I went home to tell my wife what happened and she was shocked and she said I want half of the money, because I let you go for your walk there and I said " fair enough"
So she wanted to go to the bulk barn, she really wanted to get some "hot lips candy" Me and her have gotten addicted to those

She also got herself some cocoa and a fortune cookie

She also wanted something cheap to eat from Arbys.
With my share of the money, I took it to The Hiawatha Horse Park.

I missed the first race, but I got there for the second, I put 2 bucks on a horse called "La Sun Control" and then bam, that horse won, so I was up 3 bucks.

Then I thought I will bet two bucks on the next horse race on a long shot horse called Kilmartin Passion, but he lost.
4th race I put two bucks on a horse named Mr Mack Jimmy and he won that race, so my profit was $2.20 .
I walked around the horse track to check it out

I ended up receiving a free hat there.

I was up a bit of money, but I thought I'd bet on one more race, so I put my money on RJ Hooker, that horse was in last place for the longest time during that race and then it made a comeback and one the race. That race won me ten dollars and twenty cents. So I was leaving while I was ahead.
So then I went to the flee market.

I ended up buying a pack of old school donross baseball cards from 1990 for one dollar, I ended up getting George Bell and Jimmy Key. I totally forgot about those ball players.

The wife and I still had a fair bit of money left over, so we went to the grocery store and of course once again I got sidetracked looking at flowers and the wife was like, hurry up Shaun, I want to look at food

We decided to look at cakes, because its her birthday in like ten days and we wanted to get some cake ideas. And we got too tempted and ended up buying a chocolate shadow cake. Wow it tasted great
