RE: Football: the most popular?

I just posted a similar question. However, it is about team sports in general.

My best guess with football is that you do not need much to play. All you need is a ball and one other person. This makes the sport accessible to anybody in the world. And, if you grew up playing football, you might appreciate when other people are good players.

The only other sport that requires less is running. You don't even need shoes for running in some places.

I'm not a fan of watching team sports on TV. That is my best guess.
