It's no longer news that the toughest, though not the best regional tournament, African Cup of Nations is upon us.
African Cup of Nations is the regional tournament organised by CAF, the confederation of african football for countries in the african continent. It is played by countries who win and qualify from the qualifications stages.

This year's AFCON, which was supposed to be played last year was however postponed due to Covid-19 that affected the continent and the world at large.
The tournament is hosted in Cameroon, a country between west and central africa.
This year's tournament is to be played between twenty four countries divided into six groups.

Some players to look out for are, Mohammed Salah of Egypt and Liverpool, Sadio mane of Senegal and Liverpool, Andre obama of Senegal and Ajax, Riyad Mahrez of Algeria and man city, Alex iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho of Nigeria and Everton and some other big name players.

Some countries that are tipped to Win the tournament are Algeria, Senegal, Nigeria, Egypt and Cameroon.
Algeria Won the tournament last time and with the caliber of players at their disposal, they can win it this time again.
Senegal were finalists last time out losing one nil to Algeria. when the current players they have, like Mane and co, they can go far and win the trophy.
Nigeria is another country that can win the tournament. Nigeria lost to Algeria in the semi final last year and went on to win the bronze medal match defeating Senegal. Nigeria has good players like Alex iwobi, kelechi iheanacho, Francis Uzoho and others.
Cameroon are also in line to win the tournament. They won it in 2017 and with their hosting place, playing at their country, they also have a chance at winning.

I however, do not sideline the chances of an upset. Smaller countries are always known for causing upset in the tournament and I believe that that would be there in this tournament starting with the opening match.
I predict Cameroon and Burkina faso opening match to end in a 1-1 draw.

With all this said. May the best team win.
