Manpo-Kei - 10,000 Steps a day Marketing Strategy
What's good hive!
Today I did my workout routine as always for the past two days I have been skipping my posting even so I'm doing my 10,000 steps.
Have you heard about Manpo-kei?
So as I've seened this in one of instagram random reels, I started searching for it further if it's true or not, apparently it is.
And so in 1965 a Japanese company called Yamax-Yamasa developed and launched the first pedometer with the slogan of "Healthcare with 10,000 steps".
At first it was just a marketing strategy of the company with no scienctific fact backing it up, but later on shows that people that walks more steps have higher mortality rate than those that does not.
If I think of it, it makes sense since I walk a lot, especially whenever I get lost in places, I just turn on my google map and start walking. Comparing myself to my other friends who are used in driving their cars, I can tell a huge difference with the physicality.
Benefits of Walking
On a personal note, most people I see would choose jogging or running. To me, walking is one of the basic, most underrated workout available. Since I'm more into playing sports, during my down time I'd rather walk than jog and I think it helps a lot with everything.
In the middle of my walking most of the time, I would go into trance that my head would start to clear out of whatever it is that I'm stressing about, it definitely helps clear my mind.
help prevent injury, comparing to jogging or running, since I have full control when walking, I don't stress out my knees, joints or ankle that much.
In theory and experiment on my own, I believe it helps a lot burning calories and belly fat especially if it's done consistently, I feel lighter and refresh after some long walks.
Unlike anyone else who are easily to get sick, I'm not, study shows exercise boost your immune system. so why not do it yourself right?
There are lot more benefits of walking for sure, and you can check anywhere in the web, so get you ass up and start walking! 🙂
As usual, I walked from my place to the gym and back, and I did focus on shoulder workout with different variations, once I was done, I did some chin ups and bicep curls to gain strength to ready my self up for my next workout.
After workout, I bought some burgers with egg and some deeznuts boil nuts on my way home. After some rest I ate some Fish sinigang!👇
And to wrap it up before ending my day, I did some laundry! And so resting now. Cheers!
Btw, if you read my shirt, apparently our brains doesn't recall anything that is normal and just ordinary, so be the greatest that you can be, be unique, at least try, don't be mundane and normal.. it's boring 😬
