Early Spring in Dürnstein (My Actifit Report Card: March 1 2022)

Yesterday the weather was fine and I made a 10 kms hiking tour in Dürnstein, Wachau valley - just about 8 kms from my home. I first walked through the old town.

Then I walked up to the ruins of Dürnstein castle.

I went down again and saw that the almond trees were already in full bloom.

Then I walked up the Hohereck. This mountain is a nature protection area.

These flowers called "Kuhschelle" (cow bell) in German are already in bloom, too. Their English name is Pulsatilla. Finally I walked through Loiben, a typical vintners village and then back to Dürnstein.
