Chess Brotherss: CBL T4S3 Arena Analysis
Intro
In this article I want to look at some games from last Sunday's tournament. I had a very good start in the first 7 games in which I was able to beat 5 strong players. Until then I had a tournament performance of over 2200! Of course, I couldn't hold that form for the whole hour and then dropped back to 2064. That's still 200 points above my normal score though.
Analysis
I was able to keep up well against @vjap55 with his A40 Modern Defense and after some back and forth he played a big mistake here: c3??. After that I was always better and after losing a rook I was able to accept his resignation.

The game with jonbellionfan aka @kintokris went up and down as the chart clearly shows. In this position my opponent made three very weak moves and his morale was broken. At first the rook move was supposed to maintain his big advantage, but he moved with the king and gifted me a pawn. In total time trouble, he still had 2 seconds, I still 90! I was then able to steal all his pawns and with 0.2 seconds on his clock he gave up.

I got into serious trouble with @wildthougts and was in a total losing position here at -7.4. Instead of placing his queen on d4 to protect his king, he played the bishop to g4. On the next move I missed a one-move checkmate, and after a few more moves I was satisfied with a draw by repetition.

My eternal nemesis @stayoutoftherz was clearly in a draw here, but moved his king to the wrong square. With that, my king could advance and the pawn was unstoppable.

In the game against realdeadleaf aka @deadleaf I've been in a better position for quite a while. Here I should simply capture the white pawn and slowly but surely move towards victory. But I saw the fork and offered check on e2, only to realize at the same moment that the pawn on b6 then passes through. But my opponent saw it differently and just gave up!

Lol that was really hilarious 😆
Yeah c3 was too much I had the idea of opening that file but it didn't end up as I expected
Great performance keep playing good chess and see you in the boards this weekend!
Yes, we have fought some intense fights over the last 3 years 😁!
c3 was a very good move for me :)
Superb performance!
I didn't realize that white could win, maybe due to time pressure.
Tip for all fellow-players: It’s not advisable to berserk against @schamangerbert and @stayoutoftherz :)
You had a clearly better position, but the time ....
That was a fantastic performance! I enjoyed reading your insights on all of these games.
Any tips how I can hold this level for 1 hour? The berserkers had a tough time here :)
LOL, Don't berserk back and try to avoid open positions where people can trade pieces easily. Keep as many pieces as you can and shuffle. It's just a general thought, maybe it could work. BTW, I would like to participate in your banter chess initiative.
Congratulations!
