#111 AseanHive Community Sports Photography Challenge: My Family in Sports
Greetings to my sisters and brothers of the AseanHivers Community! Are you doing your daily exercise today? Our theme for this week is about sports photography. My eldest son was a versatile athlete, and so are my grandkids. They're full of energy and enthusiasm when it comes to sports.
They started to learn at an early age with my motivation. I never said no regarding their extracurricular activities in school and am their no. 1 fan! Can you relate to that guys? We tend to be more excited than them when they're there on the triangle while the parents are more excited to witness the prowess of their little ones!
That's Antonia playing soccer when she was still in elementary. She's full of energy. She took ballet lessons and karate during weekends, along with her cousins on her father's side. They're all soccer players and her uncle was the team leader.
That's my Jesser, my grandson. He's two years older than Antonia though they play together.
I have watched them most of the time since my eldest son passed away at the age of 32. I see that they're well taken care of because Jesser's mom is a head teacher and busy most of the time and Antonia's mom is working in another location. Granny Me has to fill the gap on their behalf. I see to it that the older ones won't bully them!
Grandson's team were the champion during the Regional Meet held in Dumaguete City.
They were given certificates of appreciation during the Mayor's Cup Summer League way back in 2016.
Jesser continued with his passion in soccer to date. He's on the defense position making him vulnerable to sudden attacks so he couldn't
penetrate. Well, bruises can't be avoided. It's sports after all!
Can you imagine the impact of the soccer ball that hit his thigh guys? It even left a painful mark on his skin! Anyway, he made it to the goal making them the winner. His first cousin was the goaler too.
Jesser is also a basketball player, he plays the xylophone in the band and he's also a drummer carrying those 3 drums! He's a beatbox challenger too. He won several awards and that's an additional pocket money for him without bothering his mom. He's practicing the classic ballroom dancing which is now considered a form of sports as well.
An accident occurred when Antonia's right arm was broken when she fell on the chinning bar used by her father. It was too high but they climbed just for fun and she fell with her hand touching the ground for support. It was a reflex. She was immediately brought to the Sanitarium hospital in Bacolod for immediate operation. A brace was attached and screwed to avoid dislocation. I forbade her to join in any sports activities. It took her 3 long months to move her hand to write so her teacher allowed us to bring her books for her to study and answer the questions independently. It was heartbreaking to curtail her activities but she has to for her own sake. The doctor allowed her to join in their swimming competition because it's one way of indirectly bringing back her reflexes without those painful sessions in the clinic.
Nevertheless, it didn't stop her from doing other things she still practiced soccer with her cousins (but with precaution not to overdo it) during the lockdown inside their compound since they were not allowed to go out.
She diverted her focus to digital drawing and she's quite good at it. She even taught me how to do it. Lol!
Last season was their Sports Fest in school where she joined in the table tennis competition and soccer again with her mom's consent.
That's her medal as the champion and the most points received on the defense position.
Mama sent her a pair of soccer shoes from Germany, and Granny provided the knee and arm pads and other kinds of stuff for this event. No choice but to support her:) how can we hinder her passion when she's even good at academic activities. She's one lucky child!
That's my eldest grandson. He's a basketball player too.
He's a big hunk. See, I pretended to step higher but he's still taller than me. He took after my 6 footer dad.:) and that little guy on the other side grew taller too.
It was his dream come true when he watched the NBA basketball game. It was in Arizona.
That's my late eldest son joining a motocross which is one of the deadly sports but they enjoy it. He was a versatile player too. He used to play softball and soccer. His co-player is now my grandson's coach. He was a 3-time gold champion in taekwondo competition representing their school.
The last but not the least, yours truly was also an athlete during her high school days!:) I was the captain ball in volleyball and catcher in softball. We play the triangle as a pitcher, catcher, and first baser. We must master those three positions in the absence of one. I played guard in basketball since I am not that tall and even played lawn tennis, which was trending during that time.
I applied as a varsity scholar when I went to college and finished my course in AB. When I got employed in Manila, we used to play bowling and I loved it.
I never stopped there guys, I joined the Zumba class every morning and we do boxing in the afternoon. The photo above was taken before the lockdown. The place was also shut down since nobody was allowed to go out to avoid getting contaminated.
Sports make your mind and body active regardless of age gender and culture.
This is my entry #111 for the AseanHive Community Challenge. Thanks @justinparke and to my readers, thank you so much for reaching this far.
grabe ang lupit Maam, pamilya ng sports🤩
Woe, you are a good family sportsman💪💪💪
We were trained in school to be good players. sports was the trending activity in our early days since there's no gadgets, right? That makes us more physically fit than the present generation.
It's true and life span of old people are longer than people of new generation sister

Wow, you got your keepsake photos as you were as actively sporty as your son and now grandkids. May pinagmanahan🏐😊
Indeed my dear and Lola is very supportive. Taga kuha ng litrato hehe. How I wish we already have gadgets during my time! I would have lots of souvenir photos way back then! It's the best exercise to keep our body fit and alert. Para akong amasona non hahaha. Salamat Inday sa pagbisita. God bless!
Way to go Sis your whole family is really into sports
Yes sis, it's a good motivation for the kids and not to focus on gadgets most of the time. They, too, need to stretch their reflexes to be physically fit.
Wow. Sports run in your bloodline!
Yes, just a matter of motivation to keep your body fit aside from constantly facing these gadgets. We should find other diversions so we won't stagnate and easy to get sick.
Sa amin yung mga Kuya ko lang ang mahihilig sa sports. When I was still studying, my only focus is academics. No time to explore sports hehe.
Nasa hilig din lang naman yan di ba at okay din yong nakatuon ang focus mo sa academics dahil naapektuhan din ang studies mo. When I joined the varsity, we were required to maintain a passing grade too because we would be disqualified for the scholarship when I was in college so we had to double time. I also find sports refreshing and relaxing after brainstorming inside the classroom. lol
