POC Completed, Lessons learnt, but never give up.
Scrap them and rebuild.
It took couple of months for these ladies finger plants to fruit, you must have seen updates on them in my last post. The idea was to explore if they grow on these pots and if they do how well. Earlier, I have planted them in big poly bags, which was having more length, and they grew well, as their root expanded well. But in these pots, the depth is not much, and if you see these plants, they started growing more upwards. They should not have been this tall ideally, and started fruiting quite early.
Few other factors could be abundance of sunlight and continuous rain and the Neem plant covering them. When I brought them from the roof top. this was the best place I had, and that time, we had cut all the stems of Neem plants. They have grown back well, and with continuous rain, the water that drops on these plants is Neem flavored, which is not good. We have a saying in my place, that tells, no plant grows well below Neem plant. And I saw it in reality from this experiment. Earlier science was not much developed and these sayings were based on observations - learning never ends.
And this is the reason, these all seasoned inca plants have not flowered yet. With continuous rains, insect attack is also hampering the grow.
I had put Malabar Spinach seeds couple of times in these big pots and finally one plant came up. It grew very nicely, and we had consumed them once.
Before going to Kolkata, I cut that big stem and took home, the leaves were served as fries and the stem used in mixed curry.
These Malabar Spinach plants grow nicely after being cut and I thought, I would have another nice yield soon. By the time I came back, this place was full of grass and as it rained for a week continuously, I did not go to the garden. And see what has happened.
Caterpillars have made a nice feast of them. I have cleaned up the area now and I will have to cut them once again to see how they grow back.
Now I am planning to scrap the ladies finger plants in preparation of winter. And also scrap some of these plants, that are not doing well and take them to the other side, where they can get enough sunlight. Ideally, the preparation would have started a month back, but it's difficult to do anything with continuous rains. September used to be a pleasant month, with Winter coming around October during Dussehra. That has now shifted by a month, some real effect of climate change. Tomorrow being a national holiday, I plan to spend the entire day shaping up the garden, the best utilization of Gandhi Jayanti. Gardening is a pleasurable passion, if you enjoy it, especially when you see the result. Sometimes so much hard work goes into it, but it's not all roses at the end, so we rebuild it, but never give up. Same goes with life, isn't it ? We fail at times but then life does not stop there.
Happy Gardening!

I think because Neem plant is hungry of water, the reason why it's not a good idea to let other plants near the neem plant since it would snatch the nutrients from other plants.😊
I like the ending paragraph. 😊 That's life. Thank you for the motivational words..😊
Continuous Neem spray is not good for plants, since its raining, and they are directly under the tree, it affects them. Neem spray is recommended to deal with the insects, but that should be maximum once in a quarter.
I remember. The tree is n insect repellant too.😊

Saludos mi amigo , permítame felicitarle por tan hermoso jardín , es usted un ejemplo de constancia y dedicacion
Your gardening journey is really looking amazing! I love how you have adapted and learned from each season. Good luck with the winter prep. I hope to see how it all turns out!
Preparation starts tomorrow, let's see.
Alright then, i hope to see it.
It's our passion that determine your output, if you keep working hard for your passion, you will get great results. Insects no doubt acts as danger to the plants. you need to take care them and you will get fruit. We have neem plant here also, that suck a lot of water, which is not good for other plants growing in the surrounding.

I feel pleasure while plucking the lady fingers from the stems.
I grew lady finger last year at almost 5 Marla land and had some fun there. I gifted this vegetable to my friend also.
Everything needs hardwork. Sometime we do not get result after putting our 100 percent effort. But we should learn from mistakes when we fail.
By the way nice garden sir.
Spending spare time in such a place is a good thing.
Keep sharing these kind of posts.
Stay blessed Sir.
Every learning makes it better next time.
Exactly Sir
Bonito vivero de plantas 🪴 🌱, yo tengo una colección pero de cactus y suculentas, luego publicaré fotos para que las veas !!! En la comunidad de succulent growers 😊🙏🏻
Life can actually be like that sometimes. But we will never give up
Wow all the plants looks very fresh and clean. Well I also have some plants like Aloe Vera and all and I am growing them too.
What use you do with Aloe Vera ?
Skin care and all. It's gel is best and good part is " natural"
Certainly friend, the work of agriculture is complicated and even more so when you do not have well-prepared land for it, but the important thing is to never give up and try as many times as necessary.
How are you, dear friend @sanjeevm, good day
Without a doubt, sunlight and rainwater have contributed to the good growth and fruits of the lady's finger plant
I'm sorry that the other plants growing under the Neem plant have not had the expected results
Thank you very much for sharing this experience, have a great day
I love how you’re not just an ordinary gardener but also learned from all that you have done on your garden
That’s an amazing one

Keep it up and I’m sure you’re learning a lot from your gardening process
I've always wanted to get into gardening but never had the green thumb. The idea of growing my own food has been weighing on me heavier in recent times though so I may just need to get it done. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I love how you are really taking care of your garden non stop, you never give up for the plants.
How attractive the Malabar spinach is looking over there... Blooming so great.
Ladies finger is one plant I love , please do grow more of it.
The idea is to learn by trying, maybe it didn't work the first time, but the work is there, now all that remains is to reap the fruits of so much work.

It's amazing that even though you've been doing this for a long time already, you still learn something new. I'm trying to incorporate compost and mulch on my fruit bearing trees.
Learning never ends :)

The vegetables are growing very well, Bendi ...... Vine Spinach I eat a lot. In this way, the vegetable needs of the family can be met by gardening
I love how you are experimenting on plants and the positions that best suits them, this little tips could mean so much for sustainability.
Thanks for sharing.
It's sad to see the spinach eaten by the caterpillar. Have nice day 🥰
That's true....even Agriculture now needs more climate resistance ambiance and hybrid seeds. A lot has changed, traditional farming may not be enough to sustain the imminent changes in climate on account of anthropogenic activities.
Indeed, it fulfills physiological needs and is a good venture to engage in...for overall well-being.
Thank you.

You have good size garden. I have a question in my mind, when you could easily grow ladies finger directly on ground as you dont have such limitations, then why growing them in pot? Is it with an intention to regulate nutrient and fertilizers in a better way?
Autumn will fill your garden with colors. Do shre the colors of autumn when you have them.
