HiveChess Study (10): Analysis Of Chess Games Played Over The Weekend
Hello Chess friends! I haven't really had time to make a chess content for a while now. I woke up this morning and i decided to analyse some chess games from the weekend. I analyzed two games from the Friday #hivechess by @stayoutoftherz and one game from @chessbrotherspro's Sunday event. I excluded the Saturday's tournament by @schamangerbert as it was a 960 event.
Jonbellionfan
Out of the 3 games i looked at, 2 were games played by @kintokris. Also known as Jonbellionfan. I realized he won his first tournament this weekend on Sunday. The beauty of that tournament is that it was a strong field. It had an average rating of 2073! Which according to a statement by @lighteye is the highest so far.
Games Analyzed & Time Stamp
Game 1: @eniolw (2400) 1-0 @samostically (2227)
I took a look at a beautiful win by CM Eniolw against myself. I found the game to be quite instructive as he played alot of crushing moves to win. It was one of the victories that earned him the No 1. spot last Friday.
Time Stamp: 2:29
Game 2: @Jonbellionfan(2106) ½-½ @jaki01(2351)
This game ended in a draw by mutual agreement. I still feel Jonbellionfan didn't take advantage of the opening phase. Anyway, black also had a better ending, so i guess it ended a good result.
Time Stamp: 9:17
Game 3: @samostically(2220) 0-1 @Jonbellionfan
Jonbellionfan won the chess brothers event and i looked at one of the games he played. Avoiding hold @tungphong to a draw in an incredible game filled with sacrifices, he was able to pull a last minute win against me in this game. Unbeaten at the end tournament, he deserved the top place.
Time Stamp: 24:17
In Conclusion
I notice that most quality and interesting games usually ends in a draw or a time forfeit. I wonder how it would be if we played a 10+0 time control. A bit boring? Yeah. However, if the beserk button is enabled it might be alot interesting.
Talking about beserk button, I was frustrated last Sunday. There was no beserk button. I'm used to speed chess and 4+1 was a bit too slow for me. It looked like i had enough time to blunder or make silly sacrifices.
The season comes to an end soon. Friday's Hivechess looks to be decided already. In reality, if @sawko comes third place in the remaining events, he would still win the competition. I would be okay with my last season's finish (4th). However, @cocacolaron seems to be comfortable there. Just like Arsenal Fc, can i make top 4?
Maybe i can, we would find out.
Thank you for your attention.

After
I think i got it to move 5. I had a talk with Jonbellionfan, he said you've beaten him with it before. So he just likes to play simple.
It's interesting how you play these lines. Why don't you play the Alekhine? It looks similar.
I feel that the positions which arise in the Alekhine defence are too cramped for me.
You put so much energy and time into creating these posts and I appreciate you.
Thank you for yet another interesting Hive Chess analysis.😊😊😊
