Australia vs England // 5th Test // The Ashes 2021-22
Australia have completed a remarkable victory in the 5th and final test of the Ashes 2021-22. In the 5th test they beat England by 146 runs and won the Ashes series by 4-0.
1st Innings:
England won the toss and invited Australia to bat first. Australia had a bad start. They lost their top orders early. David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith had gone early. Then Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head made 71 runs partnership. Labuschagne had gone for 44 runs. Cameron Green came out and made 221 runs big partnership with Head. Head made a quick century of 101 runs just in 113 balls. Green scored 74 runs. After breaking their partnership others batsman failed to score big innings and Australia bowled out for 303 runs.
English pacer Stuart Broad and Mark Wood each took 3 wickets. Ollie Robinson and Chris Wokes each took 2 wickets.
In reply England bowled out for only 188 runs. Chris Wokes scored 36 runs, Root scored 34 runs. English batsman totally failed to score a big innings. Aussie bowlers performed really well. Aussie skipper Pat Cummins picked up 4 wickets, pacer Mitchell Starc picked up 3 wickets. Boland and Green each took 1 wicket.
2nd Innings:
In 2nd innings Australia just all out for 155 runs. Alex Carey scored 49 runs but others batsman have no significant performance. This time English bowlers were furious. Mark Wood picked up 6 wickets. Broad picked up 3 wickets and Wokes 1 wicket.
In the 271 run chase England had a good start. Rory Burns and Zack Crawley made 68 runs opening partnership. But after breaking their opening partnership there was a big collapse in English family. One by one came and went without a creditable innings. Finally England just bowled out for 124 runs.
Aussie bowlers again showed their strength. Cummins, Boland, Green each took 3 wickets. Starc took 1 wicket. Travis Head was player of the match and player of the series.
