ICC T20 World Cup- Bangladesh is playing without any reserve player and it got worse as Saifuddin got out of the tournament due to Inujry.
Context :
Every team in this tournament has a few net bowlers and reserve players just in case someone gets injured so that they can replace him. Team Bangladesh had also a reserve player on their squad. But just before the tournament started Bangladesh Cricket Board decided to send their only reserve player Aminul Islam Biplob back to Bangladesh. Now things got worse as one of the players Saifuddin is got out of the tournament due to injury. Let's see the full story here.
Main Story :
Team Bangladesh faced their most difficult opponent before taking on their second opponent, England. Yes, I was referring to a possible injury. Saifuddin sustained an injury during a practice session and was subsequently ruled out of the competition. Now, what makes it the most dangerous adversary for the Bangladesh cricket team? Is this due to the fact that Saifuddin is one of their primary death-over specialists? Perhaps that is the case; however, this is not the primary cause, in my opinion for the incidence. If you look at the aftermath of the incident, you'll notice that Saifuddin was replaced by Rubel Hossain and that the team no longer has any reserve players. What does it matter if another player is injured? What happens if someone becomes ill? They haven't decided who they'll be playing for the team. Injury is a common occurrence in sports, and it can occur at any time; however, a Cricket Board such as the BCB- Bangladesh Cricket Board should have been prepared for such an occurrence. As the fourth richest cricket board in the world, they have the resources to provide for their players' well-being. They will now be forced to play the entire tournament with a depleted roster.
Another aspect of playing England that has piqued my interest is Adil Rashid's performance.
The practice of including a specialist leg spinner in a team has been around for quite some time. Leg spinners are effective because they provide variety in the bowling lineup while also obtaining wickets on a consistent basis. We were able to see how Samuel Badree, Imran Tahir, Ish Shodi, Rashid Khan, Yuvendra Chahal, Shadab Khan, Adil Rashid, and so many other associate countries performed when a specialized leg spinner was used in their batting. What about the country of Bangladesh? Back in the day, there was only one leg spinner, and his name was Alok Kapali. At the time, he was a middling bowler, and the Bangladesh squad was still in its early stages of development. At one point in time, the team consisted of only Aminul Islam Biplob and Zobayer Hassan, who both served as leg spinners. In addition, Aminul was named to the World Cup squad. But what a sarcasm it was by BCB, as they forced him out of the team. Now I hope Adil Rashid will take all the wickets so that BCB regrets their decision.
