Why Aggression Makes the Game
source
Football a sporting activity which I believe is a game enjoyed by millions and millions of people is loosing its roots. Arguably 99 percent of men watch football and we love how it is. For some time now there have been calls for football to change the ways it’s evolving into.
In the past we had way less technologies and with that we still enjoyed the game of football. As much as we try to regulate most things in the game of sports especially football, I think it’s really changing the way we know sports to be. Unlike some sports, football is a game of contact.
It was born out of touch and rough tackle at times. We know that injury is a part of football which we can’t control at times no matter how much we try to. There are certain injuries which are inevitable when it comes to football. Yes, we might blame the opposing player for causing injury to his fellow player but most times when you sit back and analyse you realise that no one really sets out to hurt his opponent on the field of play.
It just happens even though we don’t like it. As much as we want to control the game of football and now people get hurt in it, it’s still a part of the game. It’s for this reason all the resources are available to make sure that players are as fit as they should be before they play any match. Yes, I agree that no matter how prepared physically you think you might be, it might still happen that you’ll get injured.
One thing that I’ve hated and I think I’ll always hate is how people especially authorities are calling for more control of football. They want referees to call every foul in the game to control how intense the game is at times. I don’t know how women football work but then aggression is part of men’s football.
If there is no aggression then most people won’t find the game of football to be as interesting as we find it. It’s for this reason that in a football game you’ll most probably loose the match without a DM on the mid-field. At times not playing without a dm might work for you but playing without a dm will end up costing you the game.
A DM’s primary work is to do the dirty work; by dirty work I mean make the rough tackles, and also try to limit the opposing team from getting anything good from their attacks. All though most of these dms are aggressive, most of the time their rough tackles don’t end in something bad happening to the players.
So yh, I am not for controlling how contact sports are played. I believe it spoils now the game of football is enjoyed by the players and untimely the fans.
How do you enjoy your football? Do you prefer all the aggression that I am championing for be removed? Or you think the game of football still needs a lot of control to prevent more and more injuries from happening.
