Playing As A Team Gets You There.
90 minutes of Bayern Vs PSG and you can’t seem to understand why things are not working for PSG in the champions league. We can make a good argument for PSG that they have one of the best squads in world football but when they come together they can’t seem to get the job done.
I know we all love to see a full-stack superstar team but will that team get you what you want? This made me think about the just-ended FIFA awards. When you look at their world 11 you just can’t stop thinking it’s shambles.
I understand they a lot of people will say they vote and all that but it’s clear that you don’t need some of the players in there. I can make a very good case that pairing Mbappe, Benzema, Halaand and Messi up top won’t get you anywhere.
I don’t mind seeing a front three of maybe mbappe, Messi and Halaand. In that team Messi will play as the 10, mbappe as the winger and Halaand as the forward. Even though am favouring Halaand here I still don’t think he deserves to be in the world 11.
Away from the world 11, to the game between Baryen and PSG at the Allianz Arena. We watched it and we can agree that Bayern didn’t have to be at their best to beat PSG, it was the same thing we said when Bayern faced Barca.
They don’t need to be at their best because they play as a team. You see the team with all this big names and big talents in the squad but then when you watch them you don’t really see the big names outshine a lot of their players. They play as a team. When they press they press together, you don’t need to go back to help the team defend.
When you look at PSG, then you will be marvelled. You put in Messi, Mbappe and Neymar as your front three. Three of the best who wouldn’t press when they don’t have the ball. In most cases, you need your forwards to help out the midfield to make the game balanced.
Tonight I think teamwork was the difference. Something which has been lacking in the PSG side for a very long time. Am not gonna sit here and act like this is the first time we are seeing it. We have seen it and I honestly think we will continue to see it if the management doesn’t sit up and try to make things right.
That superstar team they want to see up or have already set up won’t take them where they want to be. Rather they should get in players who want to prove themselves and make their fight for positions in the team.
Individual brilliance can only buy you time but then with that same time, you will be stranded eventually.

I guess they play an individual football and not as a team.
Oh it seems. But sometimes I think a change in project will help them greatly.
PSG showed a complete lack of desire and unity in the entire 90 minutes they played. Bayern on the other hand was the hungry side and that urge got them the win.
And the funny part about it is that they were not their best on the night.
