Will Bad Guys Move The Way Your Training Partner Moves?

How do you know that your opponent is going to attack and hit a certain part of the body? You observe your opponent. You get used to fighting with your training partner. You know how he moves. It is easy to sense what your training partner is going to do.

You make your move accordingly as a defense or counter-attack. You can learn different things when you do sparring with your training partner. It is an essential part of your martial art training. When you fight with someone for self-defense, maybe you see that person for the first time. You have no idea of what he is capable of.

You might expect that the bad guys will move the way your training partners move. In reality, it will not happen. You can fight with a professional fighter. Maybe it seems easy for you because you have a pretty good idea how that fighter will move. How about the attacker?

The random person who attacks you can be so unpredictable. Maybe you think you will do this and the attacker will be in that position. It can be totally different when you face it in real life. Never assure bad guys will move the way you get used to fighting with your training partner.

You can do sparring with someone who does not practice any martial art. See how he moves. You can also train with someone who practices different martial art. You will learn how to adapt and fight based on the current situation. You will adapt and make your move by observing your opponent.

You cannot plan to fight, it can be so different than you thought. You can have a strategy. Make your move based on what you see instead of what you expect will happen. And never ever underestimate your opponent.
