Look At The Attacker's Hands

You think the guy is punching you, so you try to defend that. You're surprised to see that you are bleeding. The guy is actually stabbing you with a knife. Sometimes stabbing looks similar to punching if you do not notice the knife. It could be a short knife.

What the attacker is holding in his hand, that is important. He might attack you with that in a second. If you see the attacker is hiding his hand, there is a chance he has something that he does not want to show you.

You will be more careful when you see the weapon. Once I talked to someone who was being attacked. He told me that he did not realize that the attacker had a special knife and he grabbed that. If he had realized that, he would have done something to protect against that.

Keep your eyes open. If the attacker is reaching onto his pocket to draw his weapon, it would be more difficult to deal with the situation once he draws his weapon. You can make your move instantly at that time to defend yourself. The sooner you can act, the better.

Do not just underestimate the attacker and think you cannot do anything. In case the attacker has a weapon, that can give the attacker 5 times advantage in a fight. Watch out and pay attention to the attacker's hand.

When you start fighting, do not just chase the attacker's hands. You look at the attacker's hand, but when you strike to the attacker, strike to the centerline. Attack the attacker's body and keep your hands up while making your move. In case the attacker hits you back, you are ready to block that since your hands are already there.

You try to find a way to get out of there after striking. If you stay there, the attacker might attack you again or his friends will come and attack you. It is better to leave the place as quickly as possible.
