How Can You See The Punch Coming and Defend Yourself?
You can practice punches at your own speed. Before learning any punch or kick, first of all, make your movement correct. Pay attention to how to deliver the punch. When you get it right, you can put your power and speed.
You learn how to defend a punch. You can do outside parry and palm slap parry to block the punch and counter-attack. But the thing is if you cannot see the punch coming, how can you defend that?
Your opponent throws a punch so fast that you cannot even see it coming. And suddenly you get hit. When you spar with your training partner, you can fight slowly. Try to understand the opponent's body movement when he punches. Then you can do it fast.
When the attacker attacks you on the street, he will attack you suddenly. And it will be pretty fast. To defend the punch, you need to keep an eye on the attacker. Pay attention to his shoulder movement. When he punches, his shoulder moves. You can see that and make your move to intercept the punch, That means, you can attack him before his punch reaches you.
You can parry and counter-attack. As a defense, you can also move to the side or get out of the punching range. You can do a lot of things to defend yourself against the punch and counter-attack immediately.
There is something that you learn doing that over and over. You can learn from your experience. So keep practicing. I would like to end this post with this quote.
"Life itself is your teacher, and you are in a state of constant learning."– Bruce Lee
