As Expected Liverpool Were Disappointing
It was a strange game yesterday with Liverpool looking very sluggish. But the other noticeable thing watching West Ham play is the pressure they place on the keeper on set pieces.
That was pretty much the reason for two goals yesterday. Marking Alisson and putting pressure on him, you can argue that they were fouls on the keeper preventing him from getting to the ball.
You almost feel like Van Dijk or one of the other defenders should bully Antonio back because it was clear that Alisson couldn't handle it.
Interestingly, West Ham are the team that have scored the most from set pieces this season and it is clear to see why. You almost wonder why other teams don't copy this strategy. All you need is a big man blocking the keeper and a fairly decent crosser to put it in the box and cause chaos.
Now Liverpool have two weeks before taking on Arsenal which will be an interesting game to watch. Very different styles.
