Weekly Challenge - Chaos Knight

Alright so this week of the weekly challenge we have the Chaos Knight. Goodness, it is just so hard to use it. I tried for many battles, but each time I use it I was unsuccessful of gathering a win. So what would be the next best thing? Find success stories of opponents using it on me! And in fact, I actually have a pretty good example!

So for this battle, the match conditions are whereby we cannot heal and no neutral cards. With 38 mana to play, I find that there are much room for creativity! As such, I was going for the high range offense lineup, with a Summoner that buffs my range attack by 1. My damage output was actually pretty remarkable, but I was countered by my opponent's lineup that I would say would be pretty genius!

Perhaps, it would be great to learn from the opponent with such wonderful tactics. Let me try to dissect what he has done!

First, he placed the Chaos Knight as the pseudo tank. Next, he placed the Shieldbearer at the absolute back of the lineup. Now this is actually a really effective counter against mine. The Shieldbearer will absorb the damage with the "Taunt" ability. As the Shieldbearer soaks up the damages for 1-2 turns, his remaining line up tries to dish out a massive amount of damage to thin out my lineups. Notice the monsters that he used are not tank facing, but more of backline attacks, monsters with "sneak" as well as "opportunity". The opponent is attempting to reduce the amount of damage dealers that I have while the Shieldbearer soaks up the damage. Upon the demise of the Shieldbearer, the Chaos Knight will evolve from a pseudo tank to a real tank. The "Shield" ability that it has reduces the damage received by half. This is really smart as chances are, my lineup is already thinned out so thus making this a really effective tank. While my monsters tries to dish out damage, his monsters continue to prey me from the backline.

I would say, this is a really wonderful strategy used by the opponent!

Now I am unsure of how to use this Chaos Knight, but I do recognise his abilities. In fact, at higher levels, it has a rare skill called "Giant Killer", dealing double damage against monsters that cost 10 or more mana. This can make it a really scary tank!

So while I am unable to use it effectively, I do recognise that he can be a huge behemoth if used wisely so I won't rule this Knight out from my lineup in the future!
