WHO'S BETTER? [ Jeff Hardy vs RVD ]

(Edited)

[ INTRO / END ]
This could easily be confused as who had a better career verse who was most influential and due to where he was and the large broadcasting of his career it easily goes to 6 Crown Grand Slam Champion (someone who as held the tag titles, 2 mid card belts, and a main heavyweight world championship belt in a promotion) Jeff Hardy.

[ JEFF HARDY ]

This is one of those times where your popularity comes into play as more casual fans know Jeff Hardy as he had been with the WWE for 11 constantly making highlights. Jeff was the guy to watch when he tagged with his brother Matt, when Jeff went solo he shocked the world by gaining the WWE title. Jeff had rebranded himself (and is still currently actively wrestling on the AEW roster) and we watched him be the underdog that withstood tons of punishment and found a way to sacrifice everything each time he fought to come out on top.

Jeff has 3 downfalls though. One being his trials and tribulation with his health and wellness which have put him at odds verses the law. And the other being that he is one of reasons and influencers of why wrestling sucks today, as multiple current wrestlers that are more focused on looking for spots to create in a match rather than actually telling a storying in the ring or making a feud feel real. And lastly, Jeff made that horrible looking Enigma belt.

I don’t think it’s a reach to consider Jeff’s high spot influence in wrestling a parallel to how Lil’ Wayne’s look, free styling, lyrical content has influenced many rappers for (better or) worse.

[ RVD ]

RVD is without a doubt on the Mount Rushmore of the entire promotion of ECW. You can’t think of ECW and mention him. He even held both the ECW and WWE title at the same time after the invasion angle. But his time in ECW in this case is apart of his downfall as ECW is mostly comprised of cult based fans. His popularity defientitvly was felt and increased when he came to WWE, but coming into the WWE vs starting in the WWE aren’t the same. He has managed to stay out of the law and the public eye since this week when popping up on AEW (where Jeff has been for a while) as RVD doesn’t really care to wrestle unless he really wants to.

[ CHAMPIONSHIPS ]

He’s won 21 championships (over Jeff’s 18), and I’d say he was easily top 3 and if not, should always be put ahead of Jeff Hardy as a WWE Hardcore Champion.

[ FUEDS ]
When we talk about feuds RVD’s biggest ones are against Sabu, Cena, and Jeff. While Jeff’s best feuds are against Edge, CM Punk, Randy Orton, (and for my list) the Undertaker (some will included Matt Hardy as well).

[ WRESTLEMANIA ]

Jeff has had 6 matches at Wrestlemainia where he has only won 1 out 5 matches (that win came with his brothers help when they returned in 2017 at Wrestlmainia 33). RVD went 4-0 in his matches at Wrestlemainia with titles on the line for 3 of those matches and the 4th being for a Money in Bank match which led to him coining "Mr. Money In The Bank". None of RVDs matches (regardless of wins) over shadow the highlights of Jeff returning to WWE at Wrestlemania 33 or either of the ladder match in Wrestlimania 2000 or TLC Wrestlmania X-7 (though the highlights of their careers could be tough to match up - but I still think it goes to Jeff because he was the ECW in WWE while RVD was one of the guys in ECW - Jeff stood out doing his moveset, while RVD defined what it meant to be hardcore in his own way in a hardcore promotion... while we're here excluding signatures and finishers RVD without a doubt had a better regular moveset)

[ FINAL THOUGHT ]
So for me It’s Jeff, but I’m a WWF kid, what would you expect?

None of this is financial advice, just some thoughts I wrote down.
