Mi entusiasmo continúa a flor del bate, he estado siguiendo la temporada y la misma dinámica de los partidos supone nuevas reflexiones. El pasado jueves observé el desempeño de Ranger Suárez en la lomita por los Filis, un trabajo extraordinario al lanzar seis innings en blanco y apenas tolerando dos imparables, allí los Filis ganaron 5 a 1, así que el venezolano ganó su segundo partido y dejó su efectividad en 2.65, en el partido no vio acción José Alvarado, el cerrador de Filadelfia. Con tal demostración pensé que al día siguiente Pablo López, quien juega para los Twins, también dejaría la bandera venezolana en alto, pero no fue así.

El contraste entre ambos lanzadores es evidente porque, más allá de que son venezolanos, están en la rotación como garantía de victorias o de salidas de calidad, el de los Filis respalda a Zack Wheeler, y el de los Twins a Joe Ryan, camino a establecerse como ases de sus respectivas rotaciones en caso de lesión o bajo rendimiento de los estelares, pero hay algo en la gestualidad de López que me hace pensar que no está cómodo con su actual equipo. Veremos si es capaz de recuperarse.

Por otra parte, también disfruté de la serie entre los Yankees de New York y los Guardianes de Cleveland. Este fin de semana se midieron los líderes de la Liga Americana, división Este y Central respectivamente, un doble juego el sábado, con victoria en ambas ocasiones para los Yankees me llevó a pensar que barrerían la serie, pero no fue así ya que el domingo los Guardianes ganaron en extrainning, cuando Caleb Ferguson se mostró incapaz de salvar el juego para los del Bronx, cediendo tres carreras y quedando en el terreno.

On the other hand, I also enjoyed the series between the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Rangers. Considero que este formato de la MLB ha sido un acierto, es decir, tres divisiones dentro de una misma liga, porque se mantiene la atención del público, sobre todo, en estas confrontaciones entre líderes porque de una vez se les ofrece un adelanto lo que podría ser la postemporada. Así que conservar esos primeros lugares será la motivación para esforzarse aún más. Todavía hay muchas hazañas por admirar dentro del diamante, las emociones siguen cocinándose a fuego lento, disfrutemos entonces de la pasión compartida del béisbol de Grandes Ligas.

I think this MLB format has been a success, that is, three divisions within the same league, because it keeps the public's attention, especially in these confrontations between leaders because at once they are offered a preview of what could be the postseason. So keeping those first places will be the motivation to strive even harder. There are still many feats to admire on the diamond, emotions are still simmering, so let's enjoy the shared passion of Major League Baseball.
