Early morning walk at Nong Tong Lake and visiting more places Keng Tung

Dear friends,

Yesterday morning, I went to Nong Tung Lake to walk around the lake for a few minutes. I would like to take a photo with the Keng Tung Haw but there was not sunlight yet at that time so I went to Mahar Myat Muni Buddha image shrine to meditate for a few minutes. Then, I went to the statue of Prince Sao Maha Hkanan, who ruled Jengtung State from 1813 to 1857 and was able to record it and his tombstone, that was just on the other side of the street. Before English colonial time, our Shan State was ruled by rulers called Sao Phas (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chao_Pha). There were many Mongs (states) at that time, each ruled by its own Sao Pha. And during British colonial time, they still had their own autonomy to rule their states. And in 1959, they were forced and agreed to relinquish their authority to the Burmese government. It is a sad fact that until now the Tai people does not have their own rulers or democracy.

After visiting the place, I continued to PaDaeng Gate, which was the historial landmark of Keng Tung. There used to be a moat with gates during the rule of Sao Phas and this one is the only one left. There is a sculpture of a Saw Bwar below which there was a list or Sao Phas, who had ruled the state - Sao Aik Oon (AD 1387-1390),Sao Sam
(AD 1419-1443),Sao Maha Khanan(AD 1814-1857). I think the statue was that of the last ruler of Keng Tung.

Then, I went to the Keng Tung Haw place to take some photos there. This one was just rebuilt and was just opened as a museum on the 28th of this month.

Then, I went back to the market to buy souvenir my friend had ordered and then in the afternoon, I went to Keng Tung food stall to have local tradinal food.

And yesterday was my last day of my stay in Keng Tung and in the evening, I went back to my home tome with flight. Good bye Keng Tung, I hope to visit it again.
