Happy fiery 🔥 Tuesday and a very warm welcome to my world of trees 🌲🌳. As always thank you so much for stopping by yet again. It's been another ordinary day stepping it out and as it comes to an end am raring to go with my stepping and the trending stories of the day.
Let's get into all that and more, here we go again 💨.
So I kicked off the day with a little bit of stretching then I was out for probably twenty or so minutes around the neighbourhood
Next I got on with the chores then watched some YouTube and kept up with the trending stories.
Its been a cloudy day and that extended until this evening when I took my first and final walk. As usual slow paced enjoying the cool evening breeze 🍃. Well dressed and shielded from the chilly weather too😹.
So now let's get into the trending news of the day. Starting off in Gaza, thousands of displaced Palestinians continued their return into northern Gaza, many family members re-uniting for the first time in 15 months.
About 80% of buildings in Northern Gaza have been damaged or destroyed by 15 months of Israeli airstrikes😿. Palestinians largely rejected president Trump's relocation plans to neighbouring countries saying they will stay put in their motherland💯.
Across the border, South Lebanon trending as Israel carried out the largest airstrike since November ceasefire injuring 24 people😿. Israel says it was targeting vehicles carrying Hezbollah weapons.
Over in Europe, Serbia trending as the PM stepped down🙀. This after weeks of mass protests in Belgrade. People want accountability and an end to corruption and mismanagement.
It was all sparked by deaths when the concrete and glass canopy at a train station collapsed in the city of Novi Sad in November😿.
Across the pond, the white house held its first press briefing after Donald Trump was inaugurated as president 8 days ago. The youngest press secretary was at pains to explain the executive order to cut trillions of dollars in US govt funding😹.
A US judge has temporarily blocked Trump’s sweeping order to pause federal grants and loans. The effects will be felt as far as Africa as funding for HIV and other life saving drugs will be stopped without any other alternative🙀.
Speaking of Africa, DRC trending as M23 rebels took over the strategic town of Goma. Many people have fled their homes and many killed😿 .
Protesters in the capital Kinshasa, attacked embassies of US, France, Rwanda and Kenya.. DRC's wealth of rare minerals and resources has been the cause of unrest for over 40 years. African leaders especially DRC need to get their act together. Use those resources to change the fortunes of their citizens and not be corrupt/ greedy💯.
