Happy Caturday 🐈 from Bob and yours truly😹. It's another spectacular weekend and as always this post is dedicated to Bob and other furry friends 😻. Please allow them to swing🐾 and purr on the blockchain. Thank you for for being here, it's time to quickly take a look at how my day has been and also share some of the trending stories. So sit back and let's take it away 💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 and jogging 👟 around the neighborhood 🌲. Today was much warmer than yesterday so I made the most of it in the fresh morning air🍃. Then I was back indoors for a bit of resting before embarking on the little house chores around the house. Up and down and in between I kept watching the news for trending stories. Then later in the afternoon a stop at the mall for groceries. After a bit of walking and window shopping, I was back indoors sleeping for the usual refreshing afternoon nap💤. The evening came in quite swiftly, I was up, cooking and watching a bit of youtube and the interesting EPL football matches. Man City are on a roll😹.
The sunset walk came as it was almost getting dark, as always slow paced enjoying the cool evening/night breeze. I finally made it back home safe and sound calling it a day.
So that was my day but lets finish with some of the trending stories.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹.Its been quite 🌧️☔ rainy this night, hopefully the power won't cut off.
Globally, another horrendous day unfolded in Gaza. Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 10 Palestinians, mostly children in Rafa😿. A sombre mood as funerals were held for the victims.
More Palestinians killed in the second day of Israeli raid in the occupied west bank😭. That's in Nur Shams refugee camp. Homes, shops, roads and facilities destroyed by bulldozer🙀.On top of that, lots of people arrested too.
Also trending, Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh is in Turkey met president Erdogan for talks on the current situation in Gaza.
Over in Israel, protesters returned to Tel Aviv in their thousands🙀. They are calling for early elections and freeing of the hostages being held in Gaza.
Across the pond in the US, the house of representatives has approved a huge aid package of $95 billion dollars. $61 billion goes to Ukraine, $17 billion for Israel, $9 billion for Gaza and 8 billion for Taiwan. Oh wow 🥳.
The bill moves to senate next before president Biden signs it.
A sigh of relief especially for Ukraine where the aid is critical in its war with Russia.
In crazy weather, up to 300,000 people in urgent need for help as floods wreak havoc in Burundi🙀.
The El nino phenomenon has caused increased rainfall in this east Africa area. Let's hope aid will come through and evacuated people catered for.
