Happy Caturday 🐈 and a very warm welcome to my report😹. It's the day when Bob claws 🐾 out and invades the blockchain, it's once a week so please bear with him and other kitties 😻. Anyways glad you stopped by and let's quickly take a look at how my day has been. Thank you for being here and lets dive in💨.
So just like yesterday, I kicked off with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 and jogging 👟 around the neighborhood 🌲. Today was much warmer than yesterday so I made the most of it in the fresh morning air🍃. Then I was back indoors for a bit of resting before embarking on the little house chores around the house. Up and down and in between I kept watching the news for trending stories. Then later in the afternoon a stop at the mall for groceries. After a bit of walking and window shopping, I was back indoors sleeping for the usual refreshing afternoon nap💤. The evening came in quite swiftly, I was up, cooking and watching a bit of youtube and was surprised EPL football matches are back on.
The AFCON is red hot as we near finals, south Africa currently playing Cape Verde.
The sunset walk came as it was almost getting dark, as always slow paced enjoying the cool evening/night breeze. I finally made it back home safe and sound calling it a day.
So that was my day but lets finish with some of the trending stories.
Locally, a rather quiet day except for the usual political shenanigans 😹. We are watching AFCON😻.
Globally, another horrendous day in Gaza as 26 Palestinians killed in Israel's intensified shelling in central and southern Gaza.
The death toll now at 27,238 since October 7 last year😭.
Over in Israel, thousands turned up for the weekly protests in Tel Aviv demanding for release of captives held in Gaza. Others called for the resignation of PM Netanyahu🙀.
Also trending, US says it struck more than 85 targets and seven facilities of Iran linked groups in Iraq and Syria 🙀. This after a drone attack on a US base in Jordan killed 3 US soldiers.
Iraq and Syria have seen it as a violation of their sovereignty with Iran also condemning the attack.
US and UK also launched strikes on Iran backed houthi targets in Yemen🙀. The houthis have been doing the most in the red sea, attacking commercial shipping vessels.
Let's go to Europe where pro Palestinian protests have taken place in London.
Still in the UK, northern Ireland got an Irish nationalist as first minister in historic shift🎊. Congratulations 🎉 to Michelle O'Neill.
In Germany, national protests against the right leaning AFD party kept going.
Across the pond in the US, an anti immigration convoy made its way to the border with Mexico after crossing multiple US cities. Illegal immigration has become a central focus in the lead up to the presidential election 😹.
Finally in crazy weather, wild fires 🔥 are wrecking havoc in Chile. More than 200 people are reported missing in the coastal tourist city of Vina del Mar. All's well that ends well 💯. Everything will be ok.
