TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us yet again, the very first one of February. I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for it, it's a blessing to be alive 💯. I thank you all for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get rolling 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. The sunshine and the fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies from the shopping centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. Last night a gas blast killed 3 people and injured up to 300 as a gas carrying lorry exploded in a residential area😿. It ignited a huge ball of fire burning some homes and businesses in the vicinity🙀. The place looked like a mini war zone but am glad so many people escaped and live to tell their stories of the horrendous night.
Globally, Gaza trending as Israeli soldiers have announced that they will be expanding into Rafa next. This after thoroughly bombing and rummaging through Khan Younis. Rafah is the southern most last refuge for displaced Palestinians, more than a million are sheltering there and worried of what may come next😿.
The death toll has now hit 27,131😭, the rain and cold weather is making living conditions worse especially in the tents. Very difficult situation with no running water and sanitation. Little to no food😿.
Also trending, more than 800 officials in EU, US and UK have signed a public letter protesting against support for Israeli war🙀.
The US secretary of state Anthony Blinken will be visiting the middle east in two days.
Let's go to Europe, ICJ has ruled that it has the jurisdiction to hear Ukraine's case against Russia.
Also trending, German upper house has approved bill easing citizenship rules. That far right party must be raging with anger😹.
Across the pond, Argentina trending as the lower house debate on controversial economic reforms kept going. The drastic proposed changes are part of president Javier Milei plan to remedy the ailing economy.
Outside parliament police engaged thousands of protesters in running battles😹.
Finally, attention seeking Kim jong UN of north Korea, has fired missiles into the sea🙀. A warning for enemies, he has asked the military to prepare as if a conflict was imminent 😹.
